Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker glows in the dark and has a game mode

Habeeb Onawole — Mon, 03 May 2021 22:39:58 +0000

Realme has a new Bluetooth speaker, actually, this is its first one, and it packs some pretty interesting features. The Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker as it is called is a cute little speaker that was announced a few days ago in Malaysia.

Shaped like a cobble, the speaker comes in Metal Black and Electric Blue. The black variant has the manufacturer’s name printed on the grille while the blue one has a camouflage pattern. Also, only the blue one has a luminous lanyard that glows in the dark.

The Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker has an IPX5 rating which means it will survive splashes and sprinkles. Just make sure that the flap covering the USB-C port is properly closed.

The speaker has a 5W dynamic driver that is paired with a passive bass radiator for deeper bass and clearer and more powerful sound. There are two buttons on the speaker – one is the power button and the other allows you to switch between three equalizer presets. Owners can also pair two units of the speaker together for stereo sound.

Another interesting feature of the speaker is its Game Mode. This is not a feature common in Bluetooth speakers but realme has added it to its own. According to the manufacturer, the latency drops to as low as 88ms when in Game Mode.

The speaker connects via Bluetooth 5.0, supports AAC and SBC codecs, and also works with the Realme Link app so you can manage the speaker. The Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker has a 1500mAh battery capacity and should last up to 9 hours on a single charge.

Details about pricing and availability are yet to be disclosed.

Realme AIoT launch scheduled for April 30: realme watch 2, Buds Q2, and more coming

Habeeb Onawole — Sat, 24 Apr 2021 22:12:55 +0000

Realme has set April 30 for an event in Malaysia. The event is the AIoT Grand Launch Season 3 and the manufacturer plans to announce seven new products that include two new smartwatches, earbuds, a Bluetooth speaker, and more.

The launch poster has images of the products that will be announced.

Realme Watch S Master Edition

Realme is known to launch a Master Edition of some of its products. The trend which started with some of its phones has now been extended to other products such as the Realme Buds Air Pro Master Edition. Now, Realme will launch a Master Edition of its Realme Watch S smartwatch. As seen in the poster, the watch has a special strap and a custom watch face.

Realme Watch 2

The Realme Watch 2 will also be announced on that day as the second smartwatch. The new watch has a bigger battery capacity and an increased battery life compared to its predecessor. You can read more about its features and specs here.

Realme Buds Q2

This is one of two TWS earbuds the Chinese manufacturer will unveil on that day. The Realme Buds Q2 is the successor to the budget Realme Buds Q that launched last year. The design has been slightly changed but it keeps the silicone tips for passive noise cancellation. It is also shown in the image in a blue colorway that should be dubbed Quite Blue. There is also a black version of the earbuds.

The big change is the reduced latency. Realme is claiming a super low latency of 88ms which is a significant drop from the 119ms of its predecessor. The Realme Buds Q2 will have the same 20 hours battery life as its predecessor.

Realme Buds Air 2 Neo

The second pair of TWS earbuds that will be unveiled is the Realme Buds Air 2 Neo. This was already announced earlier this month in Pakistan, however, the pair of earbuds that have ANC (active noise cancelation) will just be making their way to Malaysia.

Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker

The third audio product Realme will announce at the AIoT event is a Bluetooth speaker. The Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker has a blue camo-style top and a matching blue underside. It also has a lanyard cable. We want to believe this is Realme’s answer to Xiaomi’s Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker. Realme already wins with the design, it remains to be seen if it can outdo Xiaomi’s speaker with respect to features and price.

Realme Motion Activated Nightlight

This is another product that is meant to compete with an existing product from Xiaomi, the Mi Motion Activated Night Light, further reinforcing the rivalry between both brands. The donut-shaped Realme Motion Activated Nightlight comes in white and just as the name says, it should light up when it senses motion.
