Xiaomi has launched the “Xiaomi Redmi G Pro Gaming Family Bucket” which is now available on JD.com. it includes a Redmi G Pro 2024 gaming laptop (i7 / i9) and the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27.

The set that includes the i7-powered laptop is reportedly priced at 9498 Yuan (~$1,327) while the one that includes the i9-powered machine is priced at 10498 Yuan (~$1466).

Redmi Monitor G Pro 27

This Redmi Monitor G Pro 27 packs an IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1440 and a refresh rate of 180Hz. This panel reportedly uses an 1152-zone MiniLED backlight, offers 10-bit color depth, and covers 100% sRGB, 97% Adobe RGB, and 99% DCI-P3 color gamut.

This product reaches a peak brightness of 1000 nits and has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. It offers a response time of 1 ms which is suitable for gaming scenarios. For usability, it comes standard with a lifting and rotating stand and supports VESA wall mounting.

Speaking of ports, it equips 2 x DP 1.4 and 2 x HDMI 2.0 ports alongside an audio port.

Redmi G Pro 2024 series

Upon opening the lid, users will be looking at a 16″ 2.5K 240Hz screen that supports variable refresh rate for optimal performance and power efficiency. The display reaches a peak brightness of 500 nits and offers 10-bit color depth, DC dimming, and coverage of 100% sRGB color gamut. The Redmi G Pro 2024 series also supports G-SYNC.

For those unfamiliar, the Redmi G Pro 2024 offers the i9-14900HX a TDP of 130W. This version equips dedicated RTX 4060 graphics which can also reach a TDP of 140W. This is paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Redmi originally launched the G Pro 2024 gaming laptop back in March this year with with i9-14900HX + RTX 4060 with a price tag of 8,999 Yuan (~$1250). Earlier this month, the company launched a Core i7-14650HX version of the laptop, that equips the same RTX 4060 GPU. The new device is positioned as a bit more affordable version of the original version, which still meets the needs of most consumers.

This i7-powered version offers the same TDP as the original one

As scheduled, the i7 edition is now on sale in China with a price tag of 7299 Yuan (~$1,006) for the 16GB+1TB configuration.

To give you an idea of the performance difference, the i9-14900HX has 24 cores, 32 threads, and a maximum main frequency of 5.8GHz; whereas the i7-14650HX uses 16 cores, 24 threads, and a maximum main frequency of 5.2GHz. Both versions are equipped with NVIDIA RTX 4060 graphics cards, that offers ray tracing.

Users can switch between three modes that utilize dedicated graphics, integrated graphics, and both of them (hybrid mode) to use the resource in the most efficient way.

Other than the processor, the other configurations are mostly the same as the original i9 version. It comes with a total TDP of 210W, which is the same as the i9-powered version. Notably, the i7-powered version also gets the same 130W max performance release as the i9-powered original version.

The machine still packs a 2.5K display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a response time of 3ms. A lower latency means less tearing and stuttering of the screen while gaming, which improves the experience. This laptop also packs the same RGB lights on the keyboard and the back. You can also customize the RGB effect by choosing from a variety of options available.

While this product is very capable, many customers believe that the price-to-performance ratio is average. To make it more appealing, now the company has released a i7-14650HX-powered version of the machine, that can still meet the performance requirements of most of the customers.

Xiaomi is all set to renew its Redmi G Pro Series laptops with the latest hardware and features. Surprisingly, the new notebooks in the same series could come with the recently launched Snapdragon X Elite processor. As per the Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the new Snapdragon processor could launch on thin notebooks. Whereas, the remaining laptop series will bundle Intel processors with dedicated graphics card units.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite seems quite promising if we consider the recent leaks and the company’s claims. It marks the company’s bold entry into the laptop SoC market. This chip aims to have a significant impact on the Windows laptop market thanks to the unique Qualcomm CPU core, Oryon. Qualcomm compared the Snapdragon X Elite to Intel, AMD, and Apple CPUs in a benchmarking session. Well, we expect more details to surface before the official announcement of the Redmi G Pro 2024 Series laptops. However, it was recently spotted on Geekbench featuring the Intel 05-14500HX processor with the RTX 4060 graphics card. It managed to get an 87385 score on the benchmarks.

Further, the benchmark detailed the processor, the Intel i5 – 14500HX which coupled 6 big cores and 8 small cores with a turbo boost up to 4.9 GHz. The model that appeared on Geekbench packs 16GB of DDR5 RAM.

Moreover, the same Redmi G Pro 2024 was spotted on Geekbench last month with the Intel i9 – 14900HX processor, which carries 24 cores.

The new Xiaomi Redmi G Series 2024 laptops will see a full design overhaul. We await some renders and live photos before the launch to see the detailed changes in design.
