<p>The duo has received MIUI 12.5 beta based on Android 12 through builds 21.11.30 and 21.12.2 (via <a href="https://xiaomiui.net/redmi-k30-pro-poco-f2-pro-and-redmi-k30s-ultra-mi-10t-got-their-first-android-12-update-in-china-925/">Xiaomiui</a>). <p><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is all about optimization</span><span>s. Hence, it does not bring any features. However, it is worth noting that Xiaomi is separately </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/13/xiaomi-is-testing-ios-like-widgets-for-miui/"><span>testing iOS-like widgets</span></a><span>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to the official announcement, a total of 12 premium Mi and Redmi-branded smartphones are part of the first batch of eligible devices for the new software. The survey showed that most fans prefer LED display-toting smartphones as against an earlier preference for an LCD screen as of last year. However, there are apparently still fans who would love to have a flagship phone with an LCD screen.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-350649" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi K30S Ultra" width="770" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-4-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></a></p>
<p>Recently, a Weibo user had inquired (<a href="https://news.mydrivers.com/1/754/754868.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">via</a>) from Redmi&#8217;s product Wang Teng Thomas if Xiaomi is considering producing an LCD display-packing flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. Of course, there were rumors recently that Xiaomi was going to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/08/xiaomi-new-sd870-smartphones/">launch three smartphones this year with Snapdragon 870 chip</a>. But in response to the question, Wang Teng Thomas disclosed that the Chinese tech giant wasn&#8217;t planning to launch an LCD flagship this year. He even recommended the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k30s/">Redmi K30S Ultra</a> to Mi fans who seek an LCD flagship phone. The K30S Ultra was released last year in China but is still on sale despite the arrival of the K40 Ultra.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi exec had earlier revealed that Xiaomi won&#8217;t be launching flagship models using LCD screens going forward. At present, OLED screens have become the standard configuration of flagship mobile phones. This trend has even shifted to the mid-range segments as more mid-range models are launched presently with OLED screens. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-6.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-350650" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-6.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi K30S Ultra" width="534" height="356" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-6.jpg 534w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Redmi-K30S-Ultra-6-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px" /></a></p>
<p>For instance, this year alone, Xiaomi has launched the Mi 11 flagship series with OLED screens and even the mid-range Mi 11 Lite equally utilizes an OLED panel. Further, the  Redmi K40 series, Redmi 10X series and a couple of other models also use OLED screens.</p>

Later, it brought the Mi 10T as Redmi K30S Ultra in China. While the former has already got <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/03/xiaomi-mi-10t-pro-android-11-update-india/">the Android 11 update</a> in India, the latter is getting it in China only now.</p>

<p>An OTA update with firmware version V12.1.1.0.RJDCNXM is rolling out to the users of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-redmi-k30s-ultra">Redmi K30S Ultra</a> in China. This update brings the stable MIUI based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a>. A few days back the rollout had begun for <a href="https://t.me/MIUIUpdatesTracker/12964">select users</a> and Xiaomi seems to be widening the rollout from <a href="https://t.me/MIUIUpdatesTracker/13075">today</a>.</p>
<p>If you recall, the Redmi K30S Ultra(i.e, Extreme Commemorative Edition) came with MIUI 12.0 based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-10">Android 10</a> out of the box when it launched. Despite being a part of the  <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-11/">Android 11</a>-based weekly MIUI builds in China, it is getting the Android 11 upgrade late compared to the Mi 10T in India.</p>
<p>Anyway, this update brings the MIUI 12.1 UI with it and it is still not the latest MIUI 12.5. Compared to this, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, which is a two-year-old device, has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/31/381219-xiaomi-mi-9-se-miui-12-5-android-11-update-china/">already started</a> getting the stable MIUI 12.5 update in China.</p>
<p>Xiaomi has started the stable rollout of this new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/28/miui-12-5-announced-new-features-rollout-supported-devices/">incremental UI</a> in its home country lately and devices like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/30/xiaomi-mi-10-ultra-miui-12-5-stable-update/">Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/30/380872-xiaomi-mi-11-stable-miui-12-5-update-china/">Mi 11</a> are among the first ones to it.</p>
<p>Coming back, this is the first major upgrade for the Redmi K30S Ultra so the device isn&#8217;t going off Xiaomi&#8217;s list of devices just yet. Speaking of which, it is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/16/xiaomi-releases-the-first-batch-of-28-models-schedule-to-receive-miui-12-5/">one of the 28 devices</a> that is getting the MIUI 12.5 update in the first wave in China so expect the rollout to begin anytime.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On the other hand, the 2020 premium devices that have been updated to MIUI 12 have also </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/07/xiaomi-mi-10-pro-redmi-k30-pro-poco-f2-pro-android-11-update/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">started receiving Android 11 update</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.
