And now, the Redmi Note 14 5G users are getting this update in the Indian market as well.

Xiaomi India rolls out HyperOS 3 to Redmi Note 14 5G

The Chinese tech giant is now releasing the Android 16 OS based custom skin to the Redmi Note 14 5G model in India. This update carries the 3.0.2.0.WOQINXM firmware version with a long list of changes and upgrades. So here’s everything in the official HyperOS 3 changelog:

• Refined compiler instructions enhance performance and responsiveness while lowering power use
• Improved memory allocation and recovery increase available system memory
• Improved integrated frequency scheduling boosts system efficiency and reduces power consumption

Apart from the latest Android iteration, a major new addition to the HyperOS 3 is Xiaomi’s HyperIsland feature that is inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. So it is basically a pill shaped feature on the top that shows all live activities like music, calls, timers, navigation, and more. Xiaomi built this feature to give more information at a glance, while adding intuitive and seamless interactions as well. Xiaomi has introduced the Ivy Green color option for its Redmi Note 14 5G smartphone in India, expanding the December 2023-launched lineup previously available in Titan Black, Mystique White, and Phantom Purple.

Redmi Note 14 5G features

The device retains its 6.67-inch FHD+ flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2100-nit peak brightness, and a slim 7.99mm profile. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025-Ultra chipset, it pairs up to 8GB of RAM (expandable by 8GB virtually) with a 7,820.5mm² graphite cooling system for sustained performance.

Photography features include a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 20MP front shooter. The IP64-rated phone houses a 5110mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging.

Pricing & availability

Priced at ₹17,999 for the 6GB+128GB model, ₹18,999 (8GB+128GB), and ₹20,999 (8GB+256GB), the Ivy Green variant is now available on Mi.com. Buyers using ICICI, HDFC, J&K Bank, or SBI cards receive an instant ₹1,000 discount, lowering the entry price to ₹16,999 effectively.

In other news, Xiaomi will launch the Pad 7 Nano Texture Display Edition in India on February 18, 2025. This premium tablet features a Nano Texture Display that reduces glare by 99% and reflectivity by 65% for better outdoor visibility and reduced eye strain. It has an 11.2-inch 3.2K CrystalRes display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 800 nits HBM brightness, and HydroTouch technology for wet-hand responsiveness.

Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 14 5G in its home market of China last month. This new phone continued the legacy of the brand’s highly successful mid range Note series, and now, it seems that its global release is right around the corner as well. The Redmi Note 14 5G visited a certification recently, so here’s what we know so far.

Redmi Note 14 5G Certified in Indonesia

The Chinese tech giant’s Redmi Note 14 5G was spotted on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification database. The platform lists the smartphone with the 24094RAD4G model number along with its moniker. This sighting hints that the global launch of the Note 14 could be near. This certification sighting arrived days after the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ got clearance for launch in India. This same model even beat Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of popularity. Notably, the Redmi Note 14 Pro series is expected to launch globally with a 200-megapixel primary camera.

Unfortunately, the certification did not reveal any finer details, such as its specifications, features, and more. But based on the Chinese launch, the Redmi Note 14 5G sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,100 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

A massive 5,110mAh battery pack powers this model that supports 45W wired fast charging. It runs on the Android 14 OS based HyperOS custom skin out of the box. For optics, the rear has a 50-megapixel dual camera setup while the rear has a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, side mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, dual SIM, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for screen protection on the front.

The upcoming Redmi Note 14 5G has been spotted on the FCC website, revealing key details about its specifications and features. The global variant, identified by the model number 24094RAD4G, is expected to launch next month.

The FCC listing confirms the phone will run on HyperOS 1.0 software. In terms of connectivity, the Note 14 5G will support Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth, LTE, and 5G NR bands. In terms of charging, the phone will come with a 33W charger. While this is slightly lower than the previously rumored 45W fast charging, it still offers a decent charging speed for a mid-range device.

Other rumored specifications include a 1.5K AMOLED display, a significant upgrade from the FHD panel found on the Redmi Note 13 5G. In terms of photography, the Note 14 5G is expected to feature a 50MP main rear camera. While this is a smaller megapixel sensor than the 108MP shooter on the Note 13 5G, the 50MP sensor should still be capable of capturing high-quality photos, especially in good lighting conditions.

Under the hood, the Note 14 5G is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset. This mid-range processor is manufactured on TSMC’s 6nm process node, which offers improved power efficiency and performance compared to older chipsets.

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the existence of the Redmi Note 14 5G. A recent update to the GSMA IMEI database confirmed the smartphone’s model number. In a post on my X account, I revealed a detail about it. With the confirmation of the existence of the Redmi Note 14 5G, we can say that the new Redmi Note 14 series will be introduced in September.

The Redmi Note 14 series is coming

Redmi Note 14 series details have already been leaked. The new smartphones will have the codenames “Beryl”, “Amethyst” and “Malachite” and are highly anticipated. We said the Note 14 Pro 5G will have the codename “amethyst” and the internal model number O16U. This smartphone will come with the SM7635 (Snapdragon 7S Gen 3) processor. The device will also have a camera setup that differs according to the markets. Now, we are here with new information.

Redmi Note 14 5G has been spotted in the IMEI database with model number 24094RAD4G. It’s now confirmed that we are not far from the Redmi Note 14 series. This smartphone is rumored to have 45W fast charging support. But we can’t say that this is definitive information. Apart from that, we can definitely confirm that the device will come with MediaTek Dimensity 6100+. I’m saying this based on the information I got from the HyperOS source code. Other than that, there is no other information. It’s expected to be a similar model to the Redmi Note 13 5G.

The Arrival of the Redmi Note 14 Series

The Redmi Note 14 series is planned to be officially launched in September. With only 2.5 months to go until the launch, the anticipation is growing. The model numbers of the smartphones have appeared in the IMEI database, confirming the regions where the Note 14 series will be available.

Also, the Redmi Note 14 series has appeared in HyperOS source code. The top-end model, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, has the internal model number “O16U” and the codename “amethyst“. This is in line with the tradition of naming the Redmi Note series with gemstones; amethyst is a transparent variety of quartz typically found in purple hues. The codenames of the Redmi Note 14 5G and Note 14 Pro 5G have not yet been detected.

As expected, these devices will come out of the box with HyperOS 1.0 based on Android 14. Following the Note 14 series, the Xiaomi 15 series will be introduced in October. With only 3-4 months to go until its launch, those considering buying a Note 13 series smartphone may find the upcoming Note 14 models worth the wait.
