Now, it seems that the South Korean tech giant will be launching Fan Editions for other Galaxy flagships as well.</p>

<p>According to an <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-launch-more-fan-edition-flagship-galaxy-smartphones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>XDADevelopers</em> </a>report, Samsung is considering to drop the Lite variants altogether and offer Fan Edition. These variants will offer flagship grade smartphones at relatively affordable prices, which is where the Lite variants were positioned. In other words, existing flagships series like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-note-20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy Note 20</a> Fan Edition might be launched sometime in the near future.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/24/8848-dragon-limited-edition-luxury-phone-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">8848 M6 Private Customized Dragon Limited Edition Luxury Smartphone launches for a whopping $4400</a></strong></h6>
<p>In its recent <a href="https://youtu.be/QtlBpXiDAUo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy Unpacked event</a>, the company confirmed this news where Clare Hunter, Global Strategy at Samsung Electronics said that &#8220;As a tribute to our Galaxy fans, we’re setting a new standard of making uncompromising flagship innovations accessible to as many people as possible. And we’ll continue to launch Fan Editions of our flagship devices in the years to come.”</p>
<figure id="attachment_147866" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-147866" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-147866 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition.jpg?x96268" alt="Samsung" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Galaxy-Note-Fan-Edition-1024x683.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-147866" class="wp-caption-text">Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition</figcaption></figure>
<p>A wider implication of this statement is that Fan Editions will be a lot more common and will follow flagship launches every year from 2020 onwards. These iterations would better cater to a larger audience with their pricing. At the moment, the Galaxy Note 20 is the company&#8217;s current flagship, so we can expect an FE edition to arrive in the months that lead up to the next flagship launch, with top notch specs like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm-snapdragon-865/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 865</a> SoC or an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/exynos-990/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Exynos 990</a> chipset.</p>

For the uninitiated, the Galaxy Note Fan Edition (FE) is the recycled Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-7/">Galaxy Note 7</a> smartphone.</p>
<p>It appears that the device is MemoXpress exclusive in the Philippines and will only be available for a limited time. While the phone has not yet been listed on the store&#8217;s website, it was revealed through a Facebook post.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-155874 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Galaxy-Note-FE.jpg?x96268" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note FE" width="960" height="960" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Galaxy-Note-FE.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Galaxy-Note-FE-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Galaxy-Note-FE-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Galaxy-Note-FE-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p>
<p>The Samsung Galaxy Note FE retains most of the specifications of the original Galaxy Note 7. However, the company has replaced the battery on the handset with a smaller 3,200mAh battery compared to the 3,500mAh battery on Note 7.</p>
<p>The Galaxy Note FE comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD display with a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It is driven by the company&#8217;s own Exynos 8890 octa-core processor, coupled with Mali-T880 MP12 graphics. It packs 4GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 64GB.</p>
<p>It has an IP68 certified chassis, and the smartphone comes with additional security features like a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and an iris scanner. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> has made a few other minor changes to the handset, including Bixby voice assistant and a dedicated Bixby button.</p>
<p>The device is available in a range of different color options &#8212; Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. In the Philippines, the Galaxy Note Fan Edition is reportedly priced at PHO 32,990 (~ $640).</p>

<p>As reported earlier, Samsung has no plans to launch the Galaxy Note FE outside of Asia. Even in the regions where it has launched the Galaxy Note FE smartphone, the company is selling the handsets in limited quantities.</p>
<p>Samsung discontinued the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone that was launched last year after a manufacturing defect was found in the smartphone&#8217;s battery that generated excessive heat in the device, with a few devices catching fire.</p>
