<p>Since we are still in the early months of 2025, there are plenty of notable announcements like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7</a><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-7/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> and Galaxy Z Flip 7</a> to look forward to. But there are also plenty of devices that are reaching the end of their official support. Since we can&#8217;t cover every model right now, here&#8217;s a list of all Samsung Galaxy phones whose support ends this year. So let&#8217;s check it out.</p>

<h2>What is the end of support?</h2>

<p>Samsung offers one of the longest software support for its devices, especially the flagship smartphones. The latest Galaxy S25 series is a great example as they come with 7 years of promised OS updates. In other words, the flagship phones will get One UI or Android upgrades till 2032. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S20 Galaxy S20 Plus Galaxy S20 Ultra Featured" class="wp-image-356273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Samsung-Galaxy-S20-Galaxy-S20-Plus-Galaxy-S20-Ultra-Featured.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samung Galaxy S20 (left), Samsung Galaxy S20+ (center), and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (right)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>But once this period ends, the South Korean tech giant will no longer receive support in terms of software updates. So now, let&#8217;s check out the list of Galaxy smartphones whose support ends in 2025:</p>

<ul><li>Samsung Galaxy A02s</li><li>Samsung Galaxy A12</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20 FE</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20+</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20 5G</li><li>Samsung Galaxy S20</li><li>Samsung Galaxy W21 5G (Re-branded version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G in China)</li></ul>

<p>To recall, all of these smartphones launched around 2020. The Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A12, and Galaxy W21 5G have already reached the end of support in January 2025. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 series have a little more time.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>is one of the biggest smartphone brands in the world. It is a seasoned veteran in the smartphone industry and packs its device with various features that are quite useful to the user. The Galaxy AI brought in a load of great tools to the users, but today, we are going to check out some of the more hidden ones. </p>

<h3>Bixby Suite of Tools</h3>

<p>Gemini is already expected to get a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/20/samsung-galaxy-s25-series-gemini-features/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">deeper integration with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series</a>. However, the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s Bixby is no slouch either. While it had its fair share of issues in the past, Bixby&#8217;s suite of tools and features are a lot more useful. A great example is Bixby Vision which lets you translate texts in real time from the camera app. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Bixby-Vision.jpg?x44794" alt="5 Hidden Features in Samsung Galaxy Phones" class="wp-image-669953" width="-87" height="-107" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Bixby-Vision.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Bixby-Vision-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Bixby-Vision-696x870.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Bixby-Vision-336x420.jpg 336w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></figure></div>

<p>It can even identify objects or search Pinterest to find relevant pictures as well. Bixby was one of the first to offer this functionality, even ahead of Google. If you need to, it can even identify wines for you via Bixby Wine. Similarly, there is also Bixby Routine which uses machine intelligence to learn your usage patterns and preferences. This lets it smartly control your apps, optimize battery life, and much more. You can enable this feature by going to Bixby Routine from the notification panel.</p>

<h3>Edge Panels</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="490" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Edge-Panels.gif?x44794" alt="Samsung Edge Panels" class="wp-image-620366" /></figure></div>

<p>Edge Panels have become a feature that people have begun using more often. But many Galaxy phone owners still don&#8217;t know about it. The Edge Panel isn&#8217;t just for quick access to some apps. You even get a compass, important contacts a ruler, a notepad with all of your copied texts, Tasks Edge, and much more. Edge Panels can have you use your smartphone in a brand new way. This can directly be added from the Settings, by searching for Edge Panels.</p>

<h3>Good Lock</h3>

<p>While this isn&#8217;t an immediately available feature, downloading the Good Lock app (exclusive to Samsung) brings a wide range of impressive features and customizations. There are various modules that could change the way you interact with your Samsung Galaxy Phone. A great example is RegiStar that lets you add back taps as an input. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-1024x910.png?x44794" alt="Good Lock modules" class="wp-image-620360" width="-76" height="-67" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-1024x910.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-300x267.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-768x682.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-696x618.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-1068x949.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules-473x420.png 473w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Good-Lock-modules.png 1266w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Simply tapping on the rear panel let&#8217;s you quick launch an app, take a screenshot, or perform other functions. There&#8217;s Camera Assistant, Nice Catch, Sound Assistant, NotiStar, and more. All of these can help improve the way your phone handles notification, improve photography, or give you more control over your device.</p>

<h3>Video Call Effects</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="740" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-1024x740.png?x44794" alt="Video call effects in Samsung Galaxy" class="wp-image-620407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-1024x740.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-300x217.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-768x555.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-1536x1109.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-696x503.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-1068x771.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-582x420.png 582w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy-324x235.png 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-call-effects-in-Samsung-Galaxy.png 1620w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>While WhatsApp and other chat or calling platforms are now offering video call effects, Samsung&#8217;s One UI has this built-in from the get-go. So when you&#8217;re on a meeting on Google Meets or Zoom, or even a video call on WhatsApp, users get the option to natively add effects. You get the usual background blur and background edits, but there is also an option to add pictures as backgrounds and even have your camera focus on your face and keep it in the center. This can be found in the Advanced features tab in Settings.</p>

<h3>Shared Albums</h3>

<p>Shared Albums is a great feature that you can find in Samsung&#8217;s Gallery application. As the name suggests, it allows you and another Samsung Galaxy users share access to a common album seamlessly. It is hidden in the Gallery and you can try it out by tapping on the hamburger icon on the bottom right of the app. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="686" height="386" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Shared-Album.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-669951" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Shared-Album.jpg 686w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Shared-Album-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 686px) 100vw, 686px" /></figure></div>

<p>This let&#8217;s users creat a shared album, which can be shared with up to 100 other Samsung account holders. Now, you can simply upload images or videos on this album that can be accessed by everyone. For non-Samsung users, it supports creating an invite link, which opens the album in the browser.</p>
