Now, the two brand’s collaboration is about to expand to Samsung’s smart TVs as Microsoft has announced that some of the upcoming Samsung TVs bring along the Xbox App and Game Pass. The new features will be included in the Samsung Gaming Hub, which will be the first Smart TV platform to include the Xbox app on Smart TVs.

The brand has revealed that the TVs launching with Xbox App and Game Pass will be the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLEDs, and 2022 Smart Monitor Series. This new feature will essentially make these TVs into gaming machines as they will get access to cloud gaming via the Xbox App and will be able to stream over 100 high-quality games like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. This will also allow users to play new games released by Xbox Game Studios on Day one.

But if you don’t plan on buying a new Samsung television, don’t worry, because Microsoft is also working on a dongle device codenamed “Keystone,” which will enable users to stream Xbox Game pass games directly to their televisions without the need for any additional hardware other than the Keystone dongle.

The report shows that a total estimate of 98.3 million smart TVs was shipped in the first half of the year 2021. This shows the market grew by 6.8% year on year.

The report also reveals an impressive shift by consumers towards OLED TVs as an estimated 2.7 million OLED TVs were shipped during this period representing a year-on-year increase of 133.3%. This is an impressive trend that is made possible as more Chinese display makers perfect their OLED production skills.

In terms of individual brands, Samsung ranked first with an estimated shipment of 20.8 million units, an increase of 11.9% Year-on-Year. This year makes it the 15th consecutive year Samsung has led the global smart TV market.
