Sony has just launched its latest entry in its iconic Walkman series of audio products. The company claims that the new device will offer a world class audio experience, so here are all the details.

The Japanese tech giant has unveiled the new NW-A306 Walkman which is a stylish and compact music player. It comes with a lightweight and compact design that makes it quite portable since it weighs just 199 grams. The front sports a 3.6 inch touch display that also has a tactile physical music controls as well. This product is clearly built for audiophiles as it supports S-Master HX digital amp technology, which is proprietary to Walkman.

Furthermore, it also comes with high resolution audio support while using Edge AI with DSEE Ultimate (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine). This tech can upscale compressed digital music files in real time. In simpler terms improved audio quality of your favorite songs. Other optimizations come in the form of restoring acoustic subtleties and dynamic range for an improved audio experience.

The new Sony Walkman also offers a longer lasting battery life compared to its predecessors. The new NW-A306 model can allow users to see a 36 hours of audio playback of 44.1kHz FLAC playback. On the other hand, the 96kHz FLAC high resolution audio playback can last for up to 32 hours. The new Walkman was just released in the Indian market for a price tag of 25,990 INR (roughly 315 US Dollars).

Sony has officially announced its Walkman Signature series in the Asian market. Sony NW-WM1ZM2 and Sony NW-WM1AM2 are the two models in the series and they offer Gold-plated chassis and S-Master digital amp technology. Let’s take a look at the details.

The Sony NW-WM1ZM2 and Sony NW-WM1AM2 offer a high-resolution audio listening experience. The duo comes with a 5.0-inch compact display sporting an HD resolution.

There’s Wi-Fi connectivity that allows the devices to connect to the Internet and play and download music from endless catalogues. Both Walkman models use S-Master HX digital technology, which is Sony’s in-house technology from the Walkman brand. There’s a full digital amplifier inside the Walkmans offering rich full-bodied sound(via Sony).

The NW-WM1ZM2 comes in a 99.99% purity 4N Gold-plated chassis that is made out of oxygen-free copper(OFC). On the other hand, NW-WM1AM2 is made out of an Aluminium alloy frame that offers rigidity and a boxy in-hand feel. It has a black-colored design.

The devices run on Android 11 out of the box and have the traditional Walkman home screen setups. The devices offer up to 40 hours of 96kHz FLAC high-resolution audio playback.

Both models feature an audio jack and a USB Type-C port. The NW-M1AM2 has 128GB storage, while the NW-WM1ZM2 comes with 256GB of storage. There’s also microSD card support on both.

Tech giant Sony has added a new Spider-Man No Way Home Collection of devices to the company’s Japan website. There are special edition models of the WF-1000XM4 and WH-1000XM4 with greater audio quality and overall beautiful performance. The two models have active noise cancellation (ANC) functionality, Hi-resolution audio quality, long battery life, and several other features that stand the collection out as a whole.

Also included in the Spider-Man Collection is the Walkman NW-A105 which has a similar design to the special edition pair of headphones and earphones. The models will be available in dark green and bright red colors. More details of the lineup are available from the Sony Japan website.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 and WH-1000XM4 have some impressive features although Sony has now added some color to the models with a little tweaking of some aspects of their specs with the new collection. It is unclear where the special edition models will be available, but obviously greater preference will be given to its home market of Japan. More details of the offering will be released by Sony as the new collection becomes more visible in the market.
