The newly appointed official is also a former executive of Huawei and 360 Mobile.

In an online post on his official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, the Founder stated that he has known Li Kaixin to have successfully led Huawei in China and even helped the brand achieved tens of millions of sales. Furthermore, Pete Lau also called the newly appointed official an industry “veteran”, especially in terms of smartphone sales. Pete also expressed that Li will enable him to focus more on making new products since he is confident that he could leave the sales of smartphones in his capable hands.

Li Kaixin has now officially been appointed as the Vice President of OnePlus. For those unaware, Li was also the Vice President of Huawei and Honor’s Sales and even the Executive Vice President of 360 Mobile as well. Through his work, he had also managed to be promoted to the position of President of 360 Mobile back in 2016.

Interestingly, it has been rumored that Li Kaixin had actually been appointed as the Vice President of OnePlus back in March. However, it was also reported that he was already working with the Chinese tech giant since a year ago and that the company had kept refrained from making the decision official. But now, we have official confirmation that he has been hired by the brand.

The senior official is a veteran in the banking industry and will help the Chinese tech giant expand its interests in the financial services business.

The announcement arrived from a statement made by the company to a Chinese reporting, Caixin. Zhao was appointed as the Vice President after he completed his three year tenure with XW Bank, a lender backed by Xiaomi. Despite his shift, the official will still be supporting the bank from his new position as well.

For those unaware, the Sichuan based XW Bank is China’s third internet only bank. In other words, it is completely based online. Zhao has been integral in the company’s growth in inclusive finances and partnerships with other financial institutions. Under his run, the bank had a total asset evaluation coming around 44 billion Yuan, which roughly translates to about 6 billion US Dollars.

Notably, Zhao Weixing has previously worked with other banks in the region like Minsheng Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, and Bank of Hangzhou as well. Now, only time will tell what new policies or restructuring the Xiaomi Finances will see under his reign.

It is said that Chang Cheng had resigned from Lenovo on December 18, the same day Liu Chuanzhi retired.

Surprisingly, Chang Cheng has now joined Xiaomi as a Vice President. Earlier today, Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi confirmed the same by welcoming him to Xiaomi as the Vice President of Xiaomi Group.

EDITOR’S PICK: Huawei reports 850 billion yuan in revenue this year; smartphone shipments reach 240 million units

In his new role, Chang Cheng will be responsible product planning related to the company’s smartphones. Subsequently, Mr. Cheng also confirmed his appointment at Xioami through a post on his Weibo account.

He had joined Lenovo in the year 2000 as the Director of Research and Development of the notebook business unit. In 2011, he was appointed the Vice President of Lenovo Group and the General Manager of the mobile end-to-end software platform. Later, in June 2015, he became CEO of ZUK mobile brand.

Under Chang Cheng, Lenovo struggled in the highly competitive smartphone market and couldn’t grab significant market share. He had been under tremendous pressure to deliver results. His departure from Lenovo was cited because of personal health issues and spending more time with the family. However, that doesn’t seem to be case given that he has now joined Xiaomi in the same role.
