Last year, Vivo launched another device called the iQOO Neo 855 in the IQOO series and as expected, the newly launched handset garnered notable popularity among the company’s huge customer base. Taking the iQOO Neo 855’s undying demand into consideration, Vivo is offering multiple color and storage variants of the handset at lowered prices through Giztop.

The modest 6GB RAM+64GB ROM Vivo iQOO Neo 855 model comes in purple, as well as carbon black color options carrying a $329 price tag. You can get this model for just $259 if you purchase this variant via Giztop.

The slightly larger 6GB RAM+128GB ROM iQOO Neo 855 variant is available in carbon fiber black, Icelandic aurora, and purple for an unbeatable price of only $324. You’d normally end up shelling out $394 for this version if you purchase it from an offline store or another e-tailer.

Those who fancy using a more power-packed device, the iQOO Neo 855 is available in an 8GB RAM+128GB ROM version. This model normally sells for $429, but you can get your hands on it for just $359. On top of that, you can choose from three appealing colorways including carbon fiber black, Icelandic aurora, and purple.

If that doesn’t impress you much, you might want to check out the third iQOO Neo 855 variant that ships with 8GB of RAM and offers a hefty 256GB of internal storage space for just $429. The model will retain its original asking price of $499 once the Giztop promo comes to an end.

Vivo’s well-received iQOO Neo 855 smartphone comes with a 6.38-inch waterdrop AMOLED display, which is integrated with a screen fingerprint sensor for added safety. It packs a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Octa-core processor along with an Adreno 640 GPU for enhanced overall performance.

In the optics department, the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 houses a triple camera setup comprising a 12MP, an 8MP and a 2MP camera at the back. Upfront, it features a 16MP camera that comes in handy for capturing self-portraits and video calling.

Featuring Jovi Assistant support, the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 runs iQOO Monster UI based on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Moreover, the phone is backed by a robust 4500mAh battery that supports a 33W fast charge.

Both the companies released some flagship killers in the last period and we think it is very interesting to compare their specifications in order to let the potential buyers know which one is the perfect one for their needs and their pockets. Oppo released two similar affordable flagships recently: the Oppo Reno Ace and the Realme X2 Pro under its sub-brand. Vivo came up with the iQOO Neo 855, an upgraded version of the iQOO Neo with higher performance but a still amazing price tag. Here is a complete specs comparison between them.

Design

I feel like the Oppo Reno Ace has a slightly more attractive design due to more attention to details and better build quality. Unlike the Realme X2 Pro and the Vivo iQOO Neo, its front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. I am not a fan of that Realme logo which Oppo’s sub-brand put on the upper part of the rear side, but a lot of people like it for the originality. Due to its plastic frame, Vivo iQOO Neo 855 is an inferior choice, but it is still an elegant and good looking phone.

Display

Despite its affordable price even in the global market, the Realme X2 Pro features the best display and it is even a flagship-grade panel. The only thing missing is the Quad HD+ resolution since it is a Full HD+ panel. But it is a Super AMOLED display with a high 90 Hz refresh rate, the support to the advanced HDR10+ standard, a full DCI P3 coverage and even a very high 1000 nits max brightness. Realme X2 Pro features a wide 6.5-inch screen as well as powerful stereo speakers with the support to Dolby Atmos. In the second place, there is the Oppo Reno Ace: it still features a 90 Hz refresh rate and a full DCI P3 coverage, but it does not support HDR10+ (just HDR) and its peak brightness is lower. Vivo iQOO Neo has an HDR10 display but it lacks the 90 Hz refresh rate and the 100 percent DCI P3 coverage.

Hardware/Software

Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro feature a better hardware department than the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 since they are fueled by a better Snapdragon 855+ which offers up to 15 percent higher graphics performance as well as a high clock frequency (2.96 GHz vs 2.84 GHz) compared to the Snapdragon 855. In their most expensive configurations, Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro have exactly the same hardware department as well as the same custom user interface (Color OS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie). So the performance level is very similar.

Camera

When it comes to cameras, the clear winner is the Oppo Reno Ace since it features better sensors as well as optical stabilization. Its main sensor is a great Sony 48 MP lens with a bright f/1.7 aperture, and there is also a 13 MP telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. Right after, we find the Realme X2 Pro with a 64 MP quad camera but without OIS, and with a midrange Samsung sensor.

Battery

Vivo iQOO Neo wins the battery life comparison simply because it features a bigger battery, with a capacity of 4500 mAh. On the other hand, Oppo Reno Ace has the fastest charging technology as it can reach 100 percent of battery charge in just 30 minutes.

Price

Oppo Reno Ace starts from about $478/$428 in Asia, Realme X2 Pro costs €399/$445 globally, and Vivo iQOO Neo 855 starts from €260/$290 in China. The winner of the comparison is the Oppo Reno Ace due to its better camera capabilities and a faster charging technology, even though Realme X2 Pro has a better display.

It just hitten the Chinese market, so we think it is time to compare it with other affordable flagships that hitten the shelves in this period. At a slightly higher price, you can currently grab a unit of the Oppo Reno Ace or the Realme X2 Pro. But is it worth spending a bit more for these Oppo devices or you’d better go for the new Vivo’s flagship? This comparison will clear all your ideas about the matter.

Design

Unlike other smartphones from Oppo and Vivo, these ones are not focused on innovative designs. All of them come with a standard waterdrop display, just like most of the mid-rangers. And they come with back glass and a metal frame, so they have premium materials. I personally prefer the Oppo Reno Ace, but it is just a matter of taste. It has more attractive colors and I do not like so much the position of the Realme logo on the X2 Pro. Some may like the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 more due to the fact that it has a triple camera instead of a quad camera, making the rear design cleaner.

Display

Realme X2 Pro and Oppo Reno Ace have the most advanced display since, unlike the Vivo iQOO Neo 855, they both support a 90 Hz refresh rate as well as full DCI-P3 coverage. Between Realme X2 Pro and Oppo Reno Ace, the former wins because it comes with the support to the HDR10+ technology making the overall quality higher. Further, it has a higher peak brightness with up to 1000 nits. Note that both Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro boast stereo speakers, so they even provide a better audio experience.

Hardware/Software

All of these devices are perfect phones for gaming and advanced users since they are equipped with flagship-class chipsets. Vivo iQOO Neo has a Snapdragon 855 SoC as well as an advanced cooling system and gaming-centric features able to enhance the GPU and CPU performance. Realme X2 Pro and Oppo Reno Ace sport an even better SoC, the best one by Qualcomm. We are talking about the Snapdragon 855+ offering up to 15 percent higher graphics performance and a higher clock frequency. Both come with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, but you cannot expand it. And both come with Color OS based on Android 9 Pie. Oppo Reno Ace and Realme X2 Pro have more or less the same performance level.

Camera

Vivo iQOO Neo 855 and Realme X2 Pro lack a flagship-class camera department. Despite Realme X2 Pro has a 64 MP main sensor, it is still a midrange camera phone. The best one is definitely the Oppo Reno Ace with its 48 MP main sensor supporting OIS and a very bright focal aperture. The phone even features 2x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens, as well as a monochromatic 2 MP sensor. Vivo iQOO Neo 855 is inferior with its 12 MP triple camera, you should go for the Reno Ace without thinking twice.

Battery

Vivo iQOO Neo 855 has the biggest battery and, with its 4500 mAh capacity, it should last more. We are still not sure of it since we did not test it as it debuted today, but it will likely provide a longer battery life most of the time. However, its charging technology is much slower if compared with its rivals. With a 65W power, Oppo Reno Ace has one of the fastest charging technologies out there. Even Realme X2 Pro is fast to fully charge: it takes just 35 minutes, but it has a 50W power. You can fully charge the Oppo Reno Ace in just 30 minutes, so there is no challenge. We believe there will be only marginal differences between the battery life of the Oppo Reno Ace and the Realme X2 Pro.

Price

Vivo iQOO Neo 855 just debuted in China: it will be available starting from October 31 and pre-orders already started. Its base price is just €255/$282, while the Realme X2 Pro will debut in the global market in November with a €399/$422 starting price. Last but not least, Oppo Reno Ace starts from €380/$421 in the Chinese market. Due to its better camera, high performance and faster charging technology, Oppo Reno Ace should be the most suitable device for most of the users, but do not forget that Realme X2 Pro has a higher peak brightness and a better display quality.
