Vivo continues to expand the OriginOS 6 update to more devices, per the rollout schedule. The latest recipients include the Vivo T3 and Vivo T3 Pro. These phones entered the trial phase in January, and now weeks later, the stable update is finally rolling out.

The Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update for the Vivo T3 bears the firmware version PD2346DF_EX_A_16.2.10.4.W30, while the Pro model is receiving it as PD2404GF_EX_A_16.2.6.3.W30. This is a pretty significant update with a download size of over 4GB. It’s best to download such hefty packages over a stable Wi-Fi connection.

If you’re rocking a Vivo T3 or T3 Pro, check for the latest update via the System updates section. The initial rollout may be limited to select regions. So, if no updates are available, you can request a trial version to get it sooner. For this, navigate to Settings > About Phone > System updates > version Trial > Trial version > download and install.

Remember to back up important files just to be on the safe side. And before installing the update, ensure your device is charged to at least 40 percent so it doesn’t turn off during the software upgrade.

After upgrading to OriginOS 6, you’ll have a host of new features and upgrades to play with, including the all-new Origin Island for real-time updates with multitasking features. The update also features an improved Control Center with better lighting effects and new system fonts. Additionally, it brings new clock styles, widgets, and stronger privacy and security. The Vivo by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, paired with an Adreno 720 GPU, the T3 Pro 5G promises robust performance. It runs on Android 14 with Vivo’s FuntouchOS 14 and offers dual SIM support. It has a 5500mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging. The device offers support for 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and GPS.

The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX 882 sensor and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera. Vivo has officially launched the T3 Pro 5G in India after weeks of teasers and leaks. The phone positions itself in the mid-range segment, offering a curved AMOLED display, a large battery with fast charging, and a decent camera system. Let’s go through its details here. 

Vivo T3 Pro Specifications

The T3 Pro 5G is built around a 6.77-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display that features a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which should ensure good visibility even in bright conditions  

Vivo offers the phone in two color options — Emerald Green with a gradient finish and in Sandstone Orange with a “vegan leather” job. Both versions feature golden-accented camera borders that add a touch of elegance to the design.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the mid-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

On the back, the T3 Pro 5G sports a dual-camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera—a fairly standard setup in this price range.

Vivo also says the phone has AI features like Photo Enhance and Erase for improved image processing, but the overall camera setup doesn’t break new ground. There’s a single 16MP front-facing camera that caters to selfie needs.

Price and Availability

As for the price, Vivo is offering the T3 Pro 5G in two variants:

• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: Rs 24,999 (approximately $303)
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs 26,999 (approximately $327)  

The first sale for the Vivo T3 Pro 5G is scheduled for September 3rd via Flipkart and the Vivo India website. The company is offering launch discounts of up to Rs 3,000 with select banks and exchange bonuses for older smartphones.

The vivo T3 Pro is now officially confirmed to launch in India at 12PM on August 27. The company has already revealed some of the details of the T3 Pro which you can check out below.

As seen in the images, the T3 Pro looks quite different from its predecessor, the Vivo T2 Pro, or other models in the T3 series like the Vivo T3 and T3x. Instead, it bears a closer resemblance to the flagship iQOO 12, especially in terms of the rounded square camera island on the back.

According to the official information, the phone packs a “3D Curved AMOLED” display which supports 4500 nits peak brightness. The company markets the phone as the “brightest curved phone in the segment”.

The back panel and the middle frame are also curved, which is expected to offer a comfortable grip on the device. In addition to that, the top of the frame appears to have a flat or slightly concave surface. Notably, it appears from the official images that the phone will have a vegan leather option for the back panel.

While the company didn’t officially reveal anything else about the phone, we can refer to previous rumors to get an idea of what to expect.

It was reported that the vivo T3 Pro will be the thinnest phone in the segment with a curved display and will be measured at 7.49mm.

In terms of performance, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon chipset, as revealed by the teaser. According to a previous rumor, it could be the Snapdragon 7 Gen3. This is rumored to be paired with a large 5,500 mAh battery. For reference, the vivo T2 Pro was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset and a 4600 mAh battery, which supports 66W fast charging.

Vivo seems set to expand its T3 series with a new “Pro” model soon. We shared a few shots of the Vivo T3 Pro earlier this week and now the upcoming phone has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database.

The Geekbench listing for the V2404 model confirmed to be the T3 Pro 5G, reveals scores of 1,147 in the single-core test and 3,117 in the multi-core test. 

The Geekbench entry also suggests the T3 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. It’s a mid-range chipset that boasts a maximum clock speed of 2.63 GHz, 8 cores, and the Adreno 720 GPU. The listing further indicates 8GB of RAM and an Android 14-based user interface.

The model number V2404 previously appeared in an IMEI database leak, confirming the existence of the T3 Pro but offering no further details. 

However, additional specifications have surfaced online through unofficial channels. These leaks suggest the T3 Pro could be a slim device at just 7.49mm thick, packing a sizable 5,500mAh battery with fast charging support. 

The display is rumored to be a curved AMOLED panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Camera-wise, whispers point towards a primary sensor using a 50MP Sony component. 

The phone’s design leaked earlier this week reveals a triple camera setup, but while the main lens is expected to be the 50MP sensor, details about the other two cameras remain unclear.

It’s important to note that Vivo has not officially acknowledged the T3 Pro 5G yet. While the leaks and benchmark listing give us some insights, we need official confirmation from Vivo before we can confirm these details. iQOO is gearing up for a busy launch season with the Z9 Lite 5G arriving in India on July 15th. This budget phone boasts a 50MP Sony sensor, IP64 water resistance, and comes in two colors: Aqua Flow and Coffee Brown. Interestingly, the Z9 Lite appears to be a rebranded version of the already launched Vivo T3 Lite 5G, sharing the same design and SoC.

Meanwhile, leaks (via PassonateGeekz) suggest both iQOO and Vivo are prepping Pro variants of their T3 and Z9 series. The Vivo T3 Pro 5G (model number V2404) is expected to launch first, offering 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage in orange or green. The iQOO Z9 Pro 5G (model number I2305) might follow with a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option in white or orange.

While neither company has confirmed these devices, a retailer leak suggests an early August launch. Notably, both phones are rumored to be identical except for color options, mirroring the relationship between the T3 Lite and Z9 Lite. This suggests potential rebranding strategies by Vivo and iQOO.
