Vivo V60 (full review) arrived last month as a mid-range smartphone packed with impressive features like a bright AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, powerful cameras, and a huge 6,500mAh battery — all for a starting price of INR 37,000. It’s an excellent choice for the price, but not the only showstopper in this price segment.

The 6,000mAh battery and 80W charging are generous, though Vivo’s bigger 6,500mAh cell and 90W charging still hold the edge.

Launched at a starting price of INR 79,999, the flagship-grade Galaxy S24 is now available at a much lower price. It comes in two chip options: Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The latter offers better gaming performance, but both of them easily outperform the Vivo V60’s 7 Gen 4.

The 6.2-inch LTPO AMOLED display may be smaller, but it delivers excellent colors and smoothness. For cameras, the S24 features a 50MP primary camera, a 10MP telephoto unit, and a 12MP ultrawide shooter, with support for 8K video recording. The 12MP selfie camera can shoot up to 4K videos.

The battery capacity and charging speed are somewhat disappointing, but Samsung compensates for this by offering wireless and reverse wireless charging. The Galaxy S24 also offers solid connectivity features, a more durable body, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for better accuracy.

The Pixel 8 Pro delivers big on camera and software. The main trade-off is the 5,050mAh battery with 30W wired charging, which doesn’t quite match Vivo’s. However, it does offer 23W wireless and reverse wireless charging, along with a tougher build and the latest connectivity standards.

The Reno 14 Pro has the Dimensity 8450 chip under the hood, which is faster and more power-efficient than the Vivo V60’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. It features a slightly larger AMOLED screen with a higher pixel density.

Where it falls is the battery size, but at 6,200mAh and 80W, it’s still ahead of most rivals in this price segment. But the Reno 14 Pro supports 50W wireless charging and Wi-Fi 6e, both of which are lacking on the Vivo V60.

The Vivo V60 arrives as a feature-packed device that blends sleek design, powerful internals, and advanced camera capabilities into one premium smartphone. Design and build

Design is one of the most striking aspects of the Vivo V60. My review unit is the Auspicious Gold edition, which features a glass back. The Moonlit Blue variant also comes with a glass back, while the Mist Grey edition has a polycarbonate finish. All three are built around a plastic frame.

For me, the overall design is the best Vivo has offered after the V30. In comparison, the V40 and V50 looked closer to Oppo Reno devices in terms of design inspiration. While I was provided with the Auspicious Gold variant as my review unit, I also managed to experience the Moonlit Blue option. While the gold variant looks sleek and good, you can’t take your eyes off the blue edition.

Despite housing a massive 6,500mAh battery, the V60 maintains a slim profile. At just 7.5 – 7.7mm in thickness (depending on the colour), it comfortably fits in the hand without feeling bulky (192 grams). The phone also carries an IP68 and IP69 rating, making it resistant to dust and water and capable of surviving submersion up to 1.5 metres for as long as 120 minutes. The quad-curved screen is shielded by a layer of Schott Diamond Shield glass.

Inside the retail box, you will find the phone itself, a protective case, a 90W fast charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a SIM ejector tool, and the usual paperwork – everything you need to get started right away.

The Vivo V60 features a slim quad-curved AMOLED display with almost non-existent bezels. At 6.67 inches with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels), Vivo has significantly increased brightness levels, boasting 1500 nits of global peak brightness and up to 5000 nits of local peak brightness, making outdoor readability effortless. Screen refresh rate options include 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, and you can customise each app to support the set refresh rate.

The V60 also supports HDR10+ certification and Widevine L1 for HD streaming, making it ideal for Netflix and Prime Video. Watching videos on this display is an immersive experience, thanks to the vibrant colours and deep contrasts. Paired with stereo speakers that deliver balanced audio with enough loudness for both music and calls, the Vivo V60 makes for a strong multimedia device.

Performance and OS experience

Under the hood, the Vivo V60 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. However, it still relies on LPDDR4X RAM instead of faster LPDDR5/5X, and UFS 2.2 storage rather than UFS 3.1 or UFS 4.0. Considering rivals in this price range have already moved to faster standards, this feels like a missed opportunity.

In real-world use, though, the phone is smooth enough for everyday tasks. Gaming is decent – BGMI runs at Medium graphics + Extreme frame rate, while COD Mobile supports 90fps gameplay. It handles moderate gaming well with no major heating issues.

On the software side, the V60 ships with Funtouch OS 15. It does feel a little dated compared to rival UIs and comes with some pre-installed bloatware, but overall it remains stable and user-friendly. The OS is enhanced by handy AI tools such as Smart Call Assistant, AI Captions, AI image editing, and spam call blocking. Vivo has also committed to 4 years of Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. Based on Vivo’s past record, the V60 could be one of the first V-series phones to receive the Android 16 upgrade. Here is how it performs on benchmarks –

Cameras and other features

Cameras are where the Vivo V60 stands out. On the back, it packs a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto (Sony IMX882, OIS) that offers 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 camera with autofocus.

The main camera captures detailed shots with good colour reproduction. The telephoto is particularly strong, performing well up to the 10–20x range in decent light. Beyond that, details start to fall off, but it still outperforms many rivals in this price bracket. The ultra-wide, at only 8 megapixels, is the weakest link – results are acceptable in daylight but lack sharpness at night.

Portrait photography is where the phone shines as it offers multiple focal length options, such as 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. With ZEISS bokeh styles like Biotar, Sonnar, and Planar, the results often look as if they were taken on a professional camera. The Aura Light flash also helps improve low-light close-ups. Vivo has included versatile camera modes such as Wedding Vlog, Underwater Mode, Film Camera mode, and AI Four Season Portraits, which add creative variety.

Videos are recorded in 4K at 30fps across all main sensors. The lack of 4K 60fps support is a limitation, and low-light video can appear grainy if the lighting is insufficient.

Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor (though its position may feel a bit low for some users), NFC support, and an IR blaster. Call quality and earpiece loudness are excellent, making it reliable for day-to-day communication.

Verdict

The Vivo V60 is a device that does not compromise on cameras. From its ZEISS-backed imaging setup to its stylish design and slim profile, it delivers one of the best photography experiences in this segment. Add to that a huge 6,500mAh battery, IP68/69 rating, and solid AI features, and you have a device that balances practicality with creativity.

That said, performance-focused users may feel let down by the use of older RAM and storage standards. At this price, competitors like the Realme GT 7 (Dimensity 9400e) and OnePlus 13R (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) deliver faster performance but cannot match the photographic versatility of the V60. Vivo seems to have struck a middle ground, appealing more to those who prioritise cameras over raw processing power.

Vivo has pulled the wraps off the V60, the follow-up to the V50 that came out in February. This one is clearly aimed at camera lovers, bringing a mix of hardware tweaks and software upgrades to give it an edge in its price range. It’s priced from ₹36,999 and is up for pre-order on Amazon, Flipkart, and Vivo’s own store.

On the back, you get three cameras — a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 50MP IMX882 telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide. The telephoto uses Vivo’s “ZEISS Multifocal Portrait” to shoot at both 85mm and 100mm focal lengths, so you can get that creamy bokeh even when your subject is a bit far away. Vivo’s also leaning on AI image processing to clean up and sharpen shots, both on the rear cameras and the 50MP wide-angle selfie shooter. There’s even an “Aura Light” on the back for better portraits in low light.

Despite packing a massive 6,500mAh battery, Vivo says the V60 is the slimmest phone in India with that battery size — it’s just 7.65mm thick and weighs 192g. The curved middle frame helps it sit nicely in the hand, and you can pick from Moonlit Blue, Auspicious Gold, or Mist Gray. As for the specs, the Vivo Y400 is said to boast an AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a hole-punch for the selfie camera. Other rumored specs include a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,500mAh battery. The smartphone might come in two color options: Olive Green and Glam White.

5. Redmi 15C

Launch date: Mid-August (unofficial)

Redmi 15C is another budget smartphone gearing up for an August launch. While there’s no official launch date just yet, reports suggest a mid-August timeline. The device is said to be priced under INR 15,000.

According to previous leaks, the Redmi 15C will feature a 6.9-inch 120Hz LCD screen, a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, a 50MP main camera, a 16MP selfie camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. It is said to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Vivo V60 will feature ZEISS-branded optics on the rear, supporting up to 100x digital zoom. The teaser images also confirm a triple camera setup on the back. 

The main will likely be a 50MP sensor accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 3x telephoto unit. The front could flaunt a 50MP camera. 

Vivo is also promoting the V60 as the slimmest phone in its class, despite housing a large 6500mAh battery. The device will be available in three color variants: Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray. 

A rebranded Vivo S30?

At large, the V60 is expected to launch as a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 for the global market. If that’s the case, we’re likely looking at a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Powering the phone could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Software-wise, the V60 is said to run FunTouch OS 16 based on Android 16. Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, and a rugged IP68/IP69-rated chassis.

Vivo has three phones lined up in quick succession for the Indian market. While the T4R is set to launch on July 31 in India, the country will also be treated to the Vivo Y400 5G and Vivo V60. Recent reports have claimed that the Vivo V60 will hit the Indian market in August. It appears that the V60 will also be released in other markets around the same time.

Vivo V60 TDRA certified

Reports have revealed that the Vivo V60 has the V2511 model number. This device has already been spotted on certification platforms such as SIRIM (Malaysia), IMDA (Singapore), TKDN (Indonesia), BIS (India), and TUV. The said device has now surfaced in the database of the UAE’s TDRA certification.

Apart from these certifications, the Vivo V60 has also emerged on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, 8GB of RAM, and Android 15. The TUV listing, on the other hand, revealed that it may support 90W fast charging.

Vivo V60 specifications (rumored)

In terms of specifications and design, the Vivo V60 is likely to be identical to the Vivo S30, which has been available in China since May. It is expected to arrive in three shades, such as Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold.

The Vivo V60 is said to feature a 6.67-inch OLED 1.5K 120Hz screen integrated with a fingerprint sensor. For photography, it may feature a 50-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (3x periscope) triple camera unit. The device is also said to feature LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, a 6,500mAh battery, and an IP68/69-rated body.

The Vivo V60 may arrive with overhauled improvements to the FunTouch OS experience. There are even chatters that it could feature OriginOS, which is usually available on Vivo phones in China.

The rumour mill has been gradually leaking details about the upcoming Vivo V60 smartphone. As per a new report by SmartPrix, the V60 is slated to go official on Aug. 12 in India. Previous reports have claimed that it could be a rebranded or tweaked version of the Vivo S30 available in China.

Vivo V60 specifications (rumored)

As per the report, the Vivo V60 will feature a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. Its rear camera setup will include a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

On the display front, the V60 will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that supports a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1300 nits of HBM brightness. It will be fuelled by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and a 6500mAh battery with 90W charging support.

The V60 is said to have UFS 2.2 storage and run on FunTouch OS 16-based Android 16. It will come with other features, such as an in-screen fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and an IP68/69-rated chassis.

Vivo V60 price in India (expected)

The report speculates that the Vivo V60 will cost between Rs 37,000 and Rs 40,000 in India. It is likely to arrive in shades like Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold.

According to the tipster, the Vivo V60 will debut on Aug. 19 in India. The tipster claims that their source has stated the OriginOS based on Android 16 will also debut alongside the V60. As per other ongoing rumours, the FunTouch OS platform will get a major upgrade soon, offering an experience similar to OriginOS.

As per a recent report, the upcoming Vivo V60 with model number V2511 has received approval from certification platforms like EEC (Europe), Malaysia (SIRIM), and TUV. Among these, the TUV listing revealed that the device will support 90W rapid charging.

As per a report by XpertPick, the Vivo V60 has now been certified by multiple regulatory platforms, signalling its possible arrival in the coming weeks.

Vivo V60 receives certifications ahead of expected launch

The Vivo V60, carrying the model number V2511, has received approval from Malaysia’s SIRIM and Germany’s TUV certification bodies. Prior to these, the same device had also appeared in Europe’s EEC database.

While the SIRIM listing confirms that the device will be officially marketed as the Vivo V60, the TUV certification reveals that it will feature support for 90W fast charging. The other specifications of the phone are yet to be revealed.
