Google has unveiled its new smartphones — Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which will be launched this fall. The tech giant has revealed some key details about the upcoming phones but the detailed specs list is still under the wraps.

The company is expected to reveal more information about the Pixel 6 series smartphones at the time of official launch. But, ahead of the launch, official wallpapers of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are now available for download, thanks to 9to5Google.

The collection of “For Fun” wallpapers for the Pixel 6 Pro includes 12 wallpapers that will be offered for devices releasing this fall. Similar to the previous models, these wallpapers are designed to hide the phone’s notch, which now has a punch-hole cutout in the center.

The 12 new wallpapers from the company are Thirst Quencher, Watermelon Falls, Fruits, Cherry Cone, Street Art, Flash, Match Point, Karaoke, Deep Sea, Pattern Playlist, Cloud Surfing, and A Wandering Musician.

Apart from the new wallpapers, the Pixel 6 series smartphones will also come with a revamped user interface of Android 12 that uses the new Material You design. As noted above, not everything is known about these phones but we expect to get more information in the coming days or weeks.

So far, it has been confirmed by Google that the Pixel 6 features a 6.4-inch Full HD screen resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate while the Pro variant has a 6.7-inch QHD+ display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Pixel 6 has a dual-camera setup on the back — a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens. However, the Pro model comes with an additional 4x optical zoom folding lens. But the major highlight remains the phone’s processor as the devices will be powered by Google’s own Tensor SoC with a focus on AI and ML for improving camera performance.

WellPaper is a nifty live wallpaper app from OnePlus’ OneLab

Earlier this month, OneLab, a division created within OnePlus to develop new features for OxygenOS, announced its first cross-platform app called Clipt. The app is a clipboard tool that works across devices with different operating systems. Now, it has announced its second app – a wallpaper app called WellPaper that has a pretty cool feature.

The idea behind WellPaper is to bring your app usage habits to your homescreen rather than buried behind multiple settings menu. As the app description says, it is a digital wellbeing tool but it does its job in a cool way.

WellPaper uses dynamic wallpapers to show your app usage habits. This means that the wallpaper changes based on your usage habits. Apps are categorized into six groups which are then presented in three dynamic wallpapers:

Composition – uses shifting tiles (inspired by Piet Mondrian’s Composition II & III)
Glow – uses glow rings (inspired by the neon lights of punk titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Blade Runner)
Radial – a blend of the different categories that appears like a palette of colors

OnePlus didn’t say if more dynamic wallpapers will be added in the future but that is what we expect. Nevertheless, these three are pretty cool.

If you are wondering about power consumption, the team has taken that into consideration. According to them, the wallpapers are redrawn when the phone is unlocked and then it becomes mostly static. They also incorporated a delay in case the user is locking/unlocking the device multiple times. It is believed that these tunings should make it closer to a static wallpaper than standard live wallpaper.

WellPaper is available for all Android devices and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Google is expected to roll out the first Developer Preview of the Android 12 operating system and after a few beta releases, the final version will come sometime later this year. It is expected to come with several new features and improvements but we will have to wait for a few months to know what is packs.

However, there’s something of the upcoming Android 12 that you can already have, regardless of the smartphone you are using — wallpaper. Yes, the first wallpaper of the Android 12 is now available for you to download.

The wallpaper of Android 12, coming from the Russian website Wylsa, is available in several different sizes so that it can fit any device, including smartphones, tablets, and PC, regardless of the platform or operating system that powers them.

Keeping up with the tradition, the company is continuing with the minimal design for the wallpaper. Also, do note that the image released is for the Developer Preview of Android 12 and there’s a possibility that the final version may not have this wallpaper and we will get something totally different from what is available right now.

OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition’s wallpaper, icon packs available for download

OnePlus announced the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition in China on November 2. The device not only has the Cyberpunk 2077-inspired accents in the outer body but has exclusive wallpaper, icon packs. Now, as per a report, the icon pack is extracted successfully and working fine on a few older OnePlus devices.

As reported by Piunikaweb(source), the icon pack has been extracted by a user name “Pink Leopard elf” on Chinese OnePlus forums. However, the link isn’t accessible outside of China as it asks for a login and a mobile number with ‘+86’ country code to download. That said, few users on OxygenOS forums were quick to access it. Besides, according to a few members, the Cyberpunk 2077 wallpaper is not that easy to get. Apparently, it is in a video form, and setting it via a third-party App seems to be a bit difficult. That aside, the icon pack on the Chinese forums seems to be for the HydrogenOS 10/11. Users of OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7, 8 Pro, 8T reported that the icon pack works fine. However, some on OxygenOS forums said that its either has half-baked icons or doesn’t work for them. This is understandable considering it’s just an extract & repack for other devices and it isn’t uncommon for it to be a bit buggy.

Anyway, talking about the icon pack itself, we got to see a glimpse of it on the hands-on pictures of the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition. It has all the accents of the game baked into the icons with certain system apps having red-colored outer rings. For the unware, the device is a celebration of the upcoming role-playing action game “Cyberpunk 2077″ developed by CD Projekt.

Although it’s internally identical to the vanilla 8T, it has a complete overhaul of the outer design. There is a three-stage design on the rear with AG glass mid-segment and a carbon-like design at the bottom. As mentioned earlier, it has a special packaging, stickers, badge, icon pack, AOD style, and camera filters resembling the game.

Huawei P40 series is slated to launch on March 26, almost a month later than previous years due to various factors such as coronavirus outbreak and Huawei ban. Nevertheless, the phones in the series have leaked multiple times over the past few months leaving nothing to be awed at while watching the launch online. Chinese smartphone maker Huawei’s P series of premium smartphones debut in the first half of the year followed by Mate series in the second half. Lately, the P series has been performing extremely well in the camera department. Unsurprisingly, this year too will be no exception as a recent leak suggests beefy camera specs on the P40 Premium Edition, which at least on paper seems to be on par with Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Anyhow, we will know more about the P40 series when it will go official in a few days from now. We all love wallpapers but we love changing them more. The wallpaper on our phones sometimes reflect our mood or the kind of person we are.

Our phones usually ship with a bunch of wallpapers from the factory. Sometimes these wallpapers are really beautiful, other times they are just meh. So if you are itching for a bunch of factory wallpapers to spice up your phone you should probably check out these Galaxy Note 7 wallpapers leaked by Sir Hydarnes.

The S-Pen image which we have seen in leaked photos of the phone is also included and comes in 4 varieties.

The Galaxy Note 7 is the successor to last year’s galaxy Note 5. Samsung is skipping the Note 6 name so that all their flagships for each year can have the same number. The device will be officially launched in New York on August 2 and will feature dual-curved edges, an iris scanner, a new S-Pen, and a beautiful coral blue version. It will also sport a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and will come with a Snapdragon or Exynos processor depending on the region.
