Huawei cannot sell 5G products. Hence, all of its handsets are limited to 4G connectivity, even those that are super expensive.

However, the company’s partners have been selling some of its phones with 5G connectivity. TD Tech sells 5G variants of upper mid-range and premium smartphones. Whereas, the budget segment is covered by Wiko.

As scheduled, the latter has released a new device called Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G. Let’s check out what it has to offer.

Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G: Huawei Enjoy 60 5G with 5G support

The Wiki Hi Enjoy 60 5G is the same as the Huawei Enjoy 60 with one major difference. It arrives with 5G connectivity, which is missing in the original.

The latest-gen network connectivity is possible on this handset via a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip. The original uses a HiSilicon Kirin 710A SoC which is limited to 4G.

The phone sports a dual-ring camera design and it comes in black, blue, and gold color options. It is built around a 6.75-inch display (LCD) with an HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution and a dewdrop notch.

The device arrives with a dual camera system on the back comprising a 48MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has an 8MP shooter.

The product measures 8.98mm in thickness since it houses a 6,000mAh battery. However, its weight is relatively average at 199g.

It carries support for 22.5W fast charging and 12W reverse charging. On the software front, it boots Android 11 with HarmonyOS Connect. In simpler words, it comes with certain HarmonyOS ecosystem features, and therefore, it is marketed as HarmonyOS ecological smartphone.

Wiki Hi Enjoy 60 5G is priced at ¥1,399 (~$200) and ¥1,599 (~$230) for 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB memory configurations, respectively. It is already on sale in China and won’t be coming to global markets like the previous models.

Wiko, a brand operating within the HarmonyOS ecosystem, has recently unveiled plans to launch a new 5G smartphone on April 24th. The upcoming device, known as the Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G, is based on Huawei’s hardware and software. It has already been listed in China Telecom’s terminal product library with the model number GAR-AN00, along with some preliminary specifications.

The brand has made an official announcement stating that the Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G smartphone will be launched in China on April 24th, 2023 at 14:30 local time. The teaser image accompanying the announcement showcases the phone’s rear panel in light blue and gold color variants, which resembles that of the Huawei Enjoy 60. Additionally, the camera bump on the handset features a 48-megapixel text, confirming the presence of a 48-megapixel primary lens. Moreover, the image also reveals a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As per China Telecom’s website, the smartphone will be available in two variants: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The website also confirms that the device will be offered in black, blue, and gold color options. It will boast a dual rear camera setup, with a 48-megapixel primary lens accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary lens. The front of the device will feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G runs on the HarmonyOS platform. It is compatible with Android applications and also supports Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), which is a substitute for Google Mobile Services (GMS). In addition, the phone features NFC, GPS, and an IR blaster, providing users with a variety of connectivity options.

In terms of technical specifications, the Wiko Hi Enjoy 60 5G smartphone will feature a 6.7-inch waterdrop notch display. The handset will come equipped with a 6000mAh built-in battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack. According to the listing, the 128GB variant of the device will be priced at CNY 1,399 (~$203) and the 256GB variant at 1,599 (~$232). For instance, the Huawei Enjoy 60 comes with a price tag of CNY 1,499 ($230) for the 128GB model and CNY 1,699 ($260) for the 256GB model.

There is only one discernible difference between the Huawei Enjoy 60 and the Wiko Hi Enjoy 60, which is the chipset used. While the Huawei model incorporates the Kirin 710A chipset, the Wiko variant utilizes the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, which also enables 5G connectivity.
