We recently saw the Chinese giant <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/18/xiaomi-pokes-fun-at-notch-screen-phones-in-latest-promo-video/">dissing the notch in a series of videos</a> when we can count a handful of Xiaomi models with the notch. Xiaomi has now shared an official teardown video of the Mi 9T on Twitter.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-teardown.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-260260" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-teardown.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9T" width="727" height="346" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-teardown.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-teardown-300x143.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-teardown-696x331.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p>It is already confirmed that the Mi 9T has the same design as the Redmi K20. The teardown also reveals the internals are arranged in exactly the same way as the Redmi K20 Pro. But while the Redmi K20 Pro packs a flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset, the Mi 9T shares the same Snapdragon 730 SoC with the Redmi K20. Thus, we expect a Mi 9T Pro with a flagship processor. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/20/mi-9t-pro-receives-bluetooth-certification/">Mi 9T reportedly received Bluetooth certification</a> recently.</p>

<p>The selfie camera uses a stepper motor to move the camera up and down. The working principle of the spiral stepping motor is similar to our daily screwing action: the screw can be screwed down clockwise, and the screw can be unscrewed in the counterclockwise direction.</p>

<p>The rear camera has two modules with one of them housing the 48MP main cam and the telephoto lens as a unit. The second module houses just an ultra wide-angle camera. The video also shows the on-screen fingerprint sensor as well as the powerful 4000mAh battery and other internals.</p>

The device is scheduled to go on sale on Monday next week. Xiaomi Mi 9T has been a regular in leaks and was strongly touted to be a rebadged Redmi K20. Is that true or false? What better way to find out if the two are the same devices than an official unboxing video by Xiaomi.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-259206" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 9T" width="727" height="477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-696x457.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/mi-9t-640x420.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p>The official unboxing video posted on Xiaomi&#8217;s YouTube channel gives us a clear view of the features that come with the phone as well as what lies inside the box. Indeed, there is no doubt that the Redmi K20 and Mi 9T are similar in design.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</span> <a title="Throwback Tech Thursday: We Revisit the World’s First Camera Phone &amp; Its Selfie Camera" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/13/throwback-tech-thursday-we-revisit-the-worlds-first-camera-phone-its-selfie-camera/" rel="bookmark">Throwback Tech Thursday: We Revisit the World’s First Camera Phone &amp; Its Selfie Camera</a></strong></p>
<p>The packaging box contains a free protective case as with all Xiaomi mid-range and flagship models. This is not the usual rubber case but is made of hardened plastic. The packaging box also contains the usual user manuals, an 18W charger and USB Type-C cable as well as a SIM tray ejector. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-257362" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="900" height="666" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-300x222.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-768x568.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-485x360.jpg 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-696x515.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Xiaomi-Mi-9T-Global-Version-568x420.jpg 568w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>The video also highlights the features of the phone such as the on-screen fingerprint sensor and the 20MP pop-up selfie cam. There is also a 4,000 mAh battery which Xiaomi claims can last up to two days of usage. At the rear, there is a triple camera setup. We wait to see the camera samples captured using the rear shooters.</p>
<p>The Mi 9T will come in Black, Blue and Red colours with the Blue and Red having a gradient finish but the black has a carbon fibre finish. As stated, the device will go on sale next Monday, June 17. As for the prices,  the 6+64GB version starts at €329 ($370) while the 6+128GB variant goes for €369 ($415). Check out the unboxing video from below.</p>
