After its December 2021 release, Xiaomi’s latest TV stick can now be ordered for an affordable price of $57.99. The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K runs Android TV 11 and can deliver 4K resolution visuals. It has a remote control with support for Google Assistant. With the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K, users have access to loads of apps via the Google Play Store.

Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is an improvement from its predecessor the Mi TV Stick. It relies on an Amlogic S950Y4 chip with 4K support, four ARM Cortex-A35 CPU cores together with a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The TV Stick 4K is compatible with AV1, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and VP9. The new TV Stick 4K has pre-installed Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube apps for streaming your favorite movies and video content. On the TV Stick 4K remote, there are dedicated buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Google Assistant. With access and support for the Google Play Store, the user of the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is not short of variety on streaming content.

The device can be charged via micro USB and comes with an EU charger. The bundled package thus is made up of the TV stick, charger, remote, user manual, and an HDMI cord.

The Xiaomi TV Stick is available via AliExpress and two shipment options are available – from China and Russia. The price of the TV Stick 4K from China is $57.99, while it is priced at $77.32 when ordered from Russia. It is unclear the nature of additional costs while shipping to the different regions, or whether the TV Stick 4K is for a select set of destinations at this time.

In mid-2020, two models of the Mi TV Stick leaked before the official announcement. Unfortunately, the higher variant with 4K support did not see a release. Fast forward a year later, the 4K version emerged once again on FCC in September 2021. Almost three months from that, the streaming device now finally goes official with the new ‘Xiaomi’ branding.

Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Specifications and Features

The new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K features the same design as the older Mi TV Stick as both are part of the same lineup and were supposed to launch together last year. Hence, it also comes with the usual minimal Bluetooth-enabled Xiaomi remote control with a built-in microphone for voice control and dedicated hotkeys for Netflix as well as Prime Video.

It is powered by an Amlogic S905Y4 SoC comprising an ARM Cortex-A35 CPU and ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 2GB RAM and a meager 8GB storage.

As for software, it runs Android TV 11 with support for leading streaming services, Chromecast Built-in, Google Assistant, Play Store, and more. 

Thanks to an upgraded chip, the device is not only capable of playing 4K content but it is compatible with AV1 codec among others. It also has support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS HD.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the stick arrives with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 1 x HDMI, and 1 x MicroUSB. It ships with an HDMI extender cable and a power adapter.

Last but not least, the product measures 106.8 x 29.4 x 15.4mm in dimensions, weighs 42.8g, and comes in a single black color option.

Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Price and Availability

Xiaomi is yet to reveal the price of its new streaming device. If the company plans to continue selling the Mi TV Stick, then the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K should cost a bit more than that.

If the Chinese tech giant intends to replace the older model, then the newer one could retail at the same price as its predecessor. In other words, it could be priced around $60 or lower.
