The Honor 5X comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display with Snapdragon 616 clocked at 1.7GHz and Adreno 405 GPU. There will be 16GB of storage with 2GB / 3GB RAM versions. You also have a MicroSD card slot to further expand the storage on board.

At the back, there will be a 13MP camera with 5MP front facing shooter. The battery is quite decent too, 3000mAh with fast charge 3.0 that promises up to 50% charging in 30 minutes. There’s a fingerprint sensor on board as well, at the back which is quite fast as it can recognize a fingerprint in just 0.4s. As for connectivity, there’s dual SIM card slots, both of which support 4G LTE networks.

Like most of Huawei’s Honor smartphones, the Honor 5X is quite competitive too as it starts at just $157 for the 2GB variant and around $220 for the 3GB variant.

The phone is definitely a looker with its shiny all metal body. It comes in gold, grey and silver shades. You can check out the images of the device from down below.

    And still with micro-usb …

Yea, while I would have loved USB Type-C, I feel Huawei has done a pretty good job with this device. Looks wise and specs wise, its a great package costing just $157 in China.

I hear you, and I agree, yet I cannot stop wondering what is the cost delat between integrating usb-c vs micro usb, knowing that IT IS a competitive advantage NOW

I don’t mind the older usb because you can find a charger for it anywhere. ?

Two very nice surprises today: this and Letv 1s. The budget mid-range segment has just become interesting. Finally we have “high class” phone manufactures involved: Xiaomi, Meizu, Letv and Huawei.

I was becoming annoyed by all those Doogges, Elephones, Ulefones and company…

ugh, snapdragon again? Huawei should use their own chips instead of the qualcom chips, qualcom was a great company back when nokia and motorola ruled the mobile phone industry. But those days are long gone, companies should stop using qualcom chips, good thing companies like Samsung and Huawei have started making their own chips. Lenovo should also start making their own chips, they have the money to do that. others like Xiaomi, Elephone should stick with the cheaper mediatek and spreadtrum chips. Qualcom is like Apple, way over priced.
