Xiaomi have never been known for their camera performance, but the latest Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has broken that tradition. Reputed smartphone camera reviewers DxOmark have taken the Mi CC9 Pro’s penta camera setup for a test run, and they’ve determined that it’s not just an excellent camera, but also one of the best cameras in the smartphone industry.

With an overall score of 121, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition has tied with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro for the highest overall camera score of any phone tested so far. Its Photo score is two points lower than the Mate 30 Pro’s (130 versus 132), although it is still one of the highest photo scores ever, even beating devices like the Galaxy Note 10+

As if that weren’t enough, the new device also tops the list in the zoom subcategory with a score of 109. This is thanks to its two different focal length telephoto cameras, as well as an imaging pipeline that uses them to provide high-quality telephoto images across an entire range of different focal lengths.

The Xiaomi CC9 Pro’s video score of 102 on the other hand is the highest ever recorded by DxOmark, edging out devices like the Google Pixel 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. The overall Video score is derived from performance and results across a range of attributes, and it’s a huge sign of improvement from Xiaomi. It’s definitely a huge surprise from them, and we can’t wait to see what else lies in store.
