Huawei is known to launch its phones under different names in different markets. There are multiple examples we have mentioned in the past, so we won’t list them again. A new leak from a source known for Huawei-related news has revealed the upcoming Huawei P40 Lite is a familiar device that has already launched.

The leakster who goes by @RODENT950 on Twitter posted a tweet today that said the Nova 6 SE which launched last week, is the same device as the Huawei P40 Lite.

He also includes a press render of the phone which shows the phone in black. This one of the color variants the Nova 6 SE is available in.

Huawei will most definitely announce the phone in other colors but we hope that the other colorways are different from that of the Nova 6 SE.

The Nova 6 SE has a 6.4-inch FHD+ LCD display with a punch hole at the top left corner. It is powered by the Kirin 810 processor and is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The primary rear camera is a 48MP sensor and it is paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2M macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 16MP sensor inside the hole in the display.

The Nova 6 SE also packs a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an audio jack, a USB Type-C port, and Dual-SIM support. Huawei ships the phone with EMUI 10 based on Android 10.

The above should be the same specs of the Huawei P40 Lite but there is a chance we may get more RAM and storage variants.

The Huawei P40 Lite is expected to launch before its siblings. However, the phone may ship without Google Services in markets outside China if Huawei is still banned by the time it launches.
