Asus Phone-Intel

Based on information, Asus is reportedly preparing an Intel-based products. In addition to a product called Fonepad a tablet which was announced at MWC last month, Asus is also preparing a smartphone with an Intel-based chipset.

Asus is reportedly preparing their new Intel Smartphone that uses an Intel Atom Z2580 with two cores running at a frequency of 2 GHz. The chip is also installed on Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 smartphone, which was announced earlier.

Smartphone is rumored to use a screen size between 5 to 5.5 inches and will include top-class smartphone. This devices is not yet known when it will be released but it is expected before June 2013.

The other interesting news come from the same source that Asus has a stock of new models of the Nexus 7 is scheduled to released in May, on the  Google I/O events. A new variant of the Nexus 7 has better specs and will be sold at a very attractive price which is around $250 USD.

So far Intel’s efforts have been targeting the emerging market, such as India and Africa, versus developed markets which is already saturated by the competition from Qualcomm, NVIDIA and even Samsung with their Exynos chipsets. Let’s wait until ASUS is officially released the news about both devices.
