Acer has announced its octa-core LTE smartphone,the Acer Liquid X1, it could be one of the first 8-core smartphone yet developed. This phone falls in the category of phablet and uses Mediatek’s octa-core chip and has Android KitKat.

Mediatek announced LTE modem in January, the MT 6290. It is being assumed that Acer Liquid X1 will come with MT 6592 chip.

Acer Liquid X1 specs include; 5.7 inch IPS display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, with Mediatek’s MT6592 1.7 Ghz 8 core processor. Mali-450 MP quad-core GPU for graphics. It sports 2GB RAM, with 16GB internal storage which could be extended up to 32GB through microSD card. LTE 100Mbps, HSPA+, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0. GPS with aGPS support, FM radio tuner. The phone has 13 MP back camera and 2MP front camera. Li-ion 2,700mAh powers the phone. The phone comes equipped with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The 13MP camera has f/1.8 aperture with 0.3 autofocus which is quite impressive. The phone may be exhibited in Computex 2014, Computer and Mobile phone exhibition.

Acer although not mentioned the price but promised to ship the phone in the 3rd quarter this year.
