Yesterday, alleged photos of the Black Shark Gaming Smartphone surfaced online. While we did issue a warning about its authenticity, the CEO has himself come out to discredit the photos.
Mr. Wu Shimin who is the CEO of Black Shark, a company that Xiaomi is invested in, said in a weibo post that “the photos on the web are really ugly and they are not of their product”. He goes on to say that their own phone has a “beautiful appearance”.
The Black Shark gaming Smartphone is scheduled to launch on Friday, April 13. That’s still more than a week away. If we are lucky, we may get to see a genuine photo of the device before launch.
The Black Shark Gaming Smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 845 processor. AnTuTu also revealed that the phone will have 8GB of RAM and an 18:9 display. The OS is said to be a custom android ROM with some core MIUI features for game optimization.
Black Shark has signed a partnership with JD.com which makes the online mall the official retailer of Black Shark products for the next three years.
