Nubia is known for its phones but the ZTE sub-brand has added a new segment to its portfolio. Apart from the Nubia Z18 Mini released today, it also released the Nubia Smart Door Lock.
The Nubia Smart Door Lock is made of zinc alloy with an electroplated surface. It has support for five different modes of unlocking. You can use the fingerprint scanner, enter a numerical password, swipe with a card, unlock it with your phone, or use a key.
The lock has a cover that slides up to reveal the keypad and fingerprint scanner. When covered, it just looks like a giant door lock save for the screen which gives it away that this is no ordinary door lock.
Nubia says the door lock has a bank-level security encryption chip, military-grade fingerprint recognition, and permission management.
The Nubia Smart Lock is priced at ¥1599 (~$255). There is no info yet as to when it will be available for purchase.
