UPDATE: Images from TENAA have been added.

HMD Global joined the notch train with the still China-exclusive Nokia X6. But earlier this month, leaked 3D renders revealed it was planning a second notch-screen phone called the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The device has now surfaced on TENAA with model number TA-1099.

Nokia 5.1 Plus

The Nokia 5.1 Plus will have less powerful specs than the Nokia X6. This shouldn’t be surprising as HMD Global has shown that the higher the number in the name, the better the phone.

It will have a 5.86-inch display with a 1520 x 720 resolution which translates into a 19:9 aspect ratio. Powering the phone is a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. We can’t say if it is a MediaTek chipset or a Qualcomm chip but we won’t be surprised if it is the former. Our guess is it is probably the Helio P22 found in the recently announced Redmi 6.

The Nokia 5.1 plus will come in 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB variants with 32GB and 64GB of storage. Just as the CAD renders revealed, the phone will come with dual cameras. TENAA mentions only the primary camera which is a 13MP sensor. There is also an 8MP selfie camera.

Other details mentioned include a fingerprint scanner, a MicroSD card slot, a 3000mAh battery, and Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed. When it launches, it will be available in blue, black, and white.

TENAA has also provided images. Other than being black, the phone shares the same design as the leaked renders. The dual rear cameras and LED flash are arranged vertically and share a single but slightly raised housing. There is also a fingerprint scanner directly below the setup. However, you can’t see the notch because the screen isn’t on.
