It is not unusual for manufacturers to brag about sales especially when they have crossed a target within a short period of time. This time around, it is the turn of Xiaomi and the Mi 8 series.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition

The Xiaomi Mi 8 series – Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, and the Mi 8 SE – launched on May 31. The three devices then went on sale on June 5. A little over two weeks later, Xiaomi says it has sold over 1 million units!

The announcement was made on Twitter by Donovan Sung, global spokesperson for Xiaomi.

The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the top flagship with an in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D facial recognition. The Mi 8 comes with the same Snapdragon 845 chipset but skips on an in-display fingerprint scanner and has a less advanced face recognition. The Mi 8 SE is the world’s first Snapdragon 710 smartphone and comes with an AMOLED display and dual cameras.
