Samsung’s smartwatches are known to run a wearable version of its Tizen OS and have the prefix “Gear” in their name. That may be changing with its next smartwatch.

According to China-based leaker – Ice Universe (@UniverseIce on Twitter), the Gear S4 may launch as the Galaxy Watch and will be based on Android Wear or Wear OS as it is now known. He also revealed some few specifications about the watch.

The Galaxy Watch will come with a 470mAh battery. This is 90mAh bigger than that of the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier. Samsung will also use PLP (Panel Level Package) process for the manufacturing. This makes the processor slimmer and also saves cost. The watch will also have a new UX interaction and be able to measure blood pressure.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch alongside the Galaxy Note9 on August 9. It will most likely come in multiple variants with LTE being an optional feature.
