Today, Microsoft has announced the Surface Go as the cheapest Surface device ever. The Surface Go comes with a 10-inch display and has arrived with an attractive starting price of $399.

The Surface Go that features an inbuilt kickstand looks like a smaller edition of the Surface Pro . The 10-inch touchscreen display offers an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels. The front-facing camera of the Surface Go supports facial identification. The device is equipped with a Surface Connector for connecting a charger as well as linking it to a desktop dock. It is also equipped with a USB-C 3.1 port.  The weight of the device is 1.15lbs.

The Surface Go comes with Windows 10 onboard. The 7th generation Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y powers the portable 2-in-1 laptop-tablet hybrid. The 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variant of the Surface Go respectively features 64 GB and 128 GB of storage. The exact size of the battery of the Surface Go is yet to be revealed. Microsoft claims that the device can offer a battery life of up to 9 hours on a single charge.

The aforementioned variants of the Microsoft Surface Go only support Wi-Fi connectivity for internet. The Redmond-based tech giant has confirmed that it will be rolling out an LTE model later this year.

Surface Go Pricing and Availability

The base model of the Surface Go that includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of SSD carries a price tag of $399. The higher variant featuring 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD is priced at $549.

Some of the accessories that will be available for the Surface Go include Type Cover (black) worth $99, Signature Type Cover in red, blue and silver for $129, Surface Mobile Mouse for $34 and Surface Pen for $99.

The pre-orders of Surface Go will begin on July 10 and it will start shipping from the next month. Here is the list of countries where the Surface Go will be available on pre-orders Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K and U.S. The device will be also coming to other markets in the near future.
