At the end of the previous month, Xiaomi had launched the Mi Explorer program which it had confirmed that there will be a product launch by the end of July in Spain. Fresh information that has appeared on the official forum site of Xiaomi reveals that it will be holding a global launch event on July 24. it is very likely that the company may announce the Mi A2 Android One smartphone on the said date.
Xiaomi had launched the Mi 6X smartphone in April. The smartphone is exclusively available in China. Just as the China-exclusive Mi 5X was launched without MIUI skin as Mi A1 Android One in the global markets, the Mi 6X is pegged to debut as Mi A2 in regions outside of the home country.
The Mi A2 is expected to sport the exact same specs and design as the Mi 6X. However, the only major different on the Mi A2 will be that it won’t be featuring MIUI skin in order to deliver stock Android experience.
The Mi A2 is will be coming with 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 660 chipset will be powering the smartphone. It is expected to be available with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage.
The 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup will be present on the back panel of the Mi A2. The frontside of the phone will be fitted with a 20-megapixel selfie camera. It will be receiving power from 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It is likely to arrive in Blue, Black and Gold color variants. The lowest configuration model of the Mi A2 is expected to be priced at ~$290 whereas the highest variant may arrive with ~$370 pricing.

Xiaomi has informed about the upcoming global launch event through the Mi forums. The company will be allowing few of its fans to attend the July 24 event. Mi fans who wish to attend the event can enter their details between July 11 and July 18. Selected fans will have to bear their travel and accommodation expenses.
In related news, Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will be debuting the Mi Max 3 smartphone in China on July 19. Some of its key specs include 6.99-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 636, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, 5,500mAh battery, 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera and 8-megapixel front camera.
