The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is at the top of the Mi 8 series. Since its launch, it has remained a China-exclusive but that may be changing soon.

Remember the Mi 8 Explorer Edition with a smaller notch seen on TENAA last month? A device with the exact model number has been seen at Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). What is interesting is that the listing also reveals the Xiaomi M1807E8A will be marketed as the Mi 8 Pro and not the Mi 8 Explorer Edition.

Apart from having a smaller notch, the Mi 8 Pro has the same specs as the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. There are unconfirmed rumors that the smaller notch may mean it won’t have the advanced 3D face scanning technology of the Explorer Edition.

The Mi 8 Pro has a 6.21-inch OLED screen with a 2248 x 1080 resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM. Depending on the RAM, the phone will have 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage.
