After floating around the rumor mill for a long time, the hotly-anticipated Meizu 16X smartphone was finally confirmed by the company’s chief executive officer Jack Wong. Following its debut during a launch event held in Beijing today, the phone has gone up for pre-order on Giztopb carrying a $399 price tag.

The 16X recently made its appearance on TENAA, giving Meizu fans a brief glimpse of what it has to offer in terms of specifications. As predicted by earlier reports, the phone sports a big 6.0-inch Super AMOLED On-cell display with a screen resolution of 2160×1080 pixels for unparalleled visuals and easy navigation.

The Meizu-branded smartphone packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor and an equally competent ARM Mali-G71 MP20 GPU, under the hood. It offers 6/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage.


On the photography front, the Meizu 16X houses a 12MP+20MP dual-camera setup that lets you shoot flawless images with Sony IMX380 Exmor RS. Up front, there’s a 20MP camera for detailed self-portraits and face-to-face video chatting.

Furthermore, the phone runs on Flyme 7.5 operating system based on Android 8.0 Oreo OS to ensure uncompromised productivity even on the go. The phone draws its juices from a robust 3010mAh lithium-ion battery that supports 24W mCharge 4.0 fast charging and delivers up to 24 hours of standby time.
