After launching Oppo F9 Pro and Oppo Find X flagship smartphones in India, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now all set to launch a new smartphone in India under its R-series.

Through a Twitter post, the company has teased the launch of a new smartphone in India under its R-series. In the tweet, the company writes: “Stay tuned! Something new is coming up. #OPPO R-Series.”

However, the company has not revealed which device it plans to launch in India and when. Going by the recent developments from Oppo, it seems that the company could launch Oppo R17 series phone, which also includes R17 Pro and R17 Neo.

OPPO R17

As for the specifications, the Oppo R17 comes with a 6.4-inch waterdrop display and is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 670 processor. It comes in two RAM versions – 6GB and 8GB RAM, both pairing up with 128GB of internal storage.

It has a 21MP + 8MP dual cameras at the back and a 25MP front-facing camera. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 while a 3500mAh battery with support for VOOC fast charging keeps the lights on.

The R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch screen that offers an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, along with an under-display fingerprint scanner. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s a 12MP + 20MP camera at the back and a 25MP front-facing shooter. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with ColorOS, the device is powered by a 3,700mAh battery.

Oppo R17 Neo, on the other hand, features the same 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a notch and this one too is equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. However, instead of Snapdragon 710, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM. It features a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back and comes with a 25MP front-facing snapper. Running on Android Oreo-based ColorOS, the phone is powered by a 3,600mAh battery.
