OPPO has recently introduced the OPPO A7 smartphone in various Asian markets. It was announced in India on Nov. 22, but the pricing and release date of the smartphone was not confirmed. Fresh information revealed by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom the OPPO A7 will be releasing with a price tag of Rs. 16,990 (~$240). The handset is speculated to hit the market on Nov. 27.

The OPPO A7 is a rebranded version of the Realme 2 aimed towards the offline markets. The Realme 2 is exclusively available for purchase. The 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM variant of the Realme 2 smartphone are respectively priced at Rs. 9,499 (~$134) and Rs. 10,990 (~$156).

The official OPPO India site lists the OPPO A7 in variants such as 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage + 4 GB RAM. Probably, the Rs. 16,990 (~$240) pricing leak could belong to the second variant of the smartphone.

The OPPO A7 features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD notched display thaPt supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It offers an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 88.3 percent. The Snapdragon 450 chipset that includes 18 GHz octa-core processor is present under the hood of the device. Some markets have received the smartphone in 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM option. There is a microSD card slot on the device for more storage.

For photography, the OPPO A7 is fitted with an AI enabled 16-megapixel front camera. The Realme 2 handset features an 8-mgeapixel selfie shooter. The back panel of the phone is equipped with 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup. It receives power from 4,230mAh battery. The smartphone is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS that is overlaid with ColorOS 5.2 custom UI from the company. In India, it will be available in colors like Glaring Gold and Glaze Blue.
