HMD Global has launched a new phone in India today. However, it isn’t a smartphone but the Nokia 106 feature phone. The feature phone market is still a money-spinner and Nokia sits comfortably at the top of the list.
The Nokia 106 has a 1.8-inch color display, an alphanumeric keypad, and a curved polycarbonate body with an inherent coloring which means scratches won’t be very visible. It has dual-SIM support, 4MB of storage and a removable 800mAh battery which can last up to 21 days on standby and provide 15 hours of talk time. Charging is via a MicroUSB port.
The Nokia 106 can store up to 2,000 contacts and 500 messages and comes bundled with the famous Snake Xenzia game. The phone is priced at INR 1,299 (~$19) and comes in dark gray. It will be available for purchase at retail stores across the country.
