In December last year, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo had launched its flagship smartphone, Oppo R17 Pro, in the Indian market for a price of Rs. 45,990 (approximately $648). Now, the company has slashed the phone’s pricing by Rs. 6,000 (approximately $85).

With this price cut, the Oppo R17 Pro is now available for purchase in India for a price of Rs. 39,990 (approximately $564). The phone’s new pricing is applicable for purchases through online stores as well as offline stores. The Oppo R17 Pro is available in India in two color options — Radiant Mist and Emerald Green.

The glass-bodied smartphone features a metallic frame around its edges and comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display having a waterdrop notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is also equipped with an under-screen fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, the Oppo R17 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset along with 8 GB of RAM. The native storage of the phone is 128GB and also has a microSD card slot for additional storage.

In the camera department, the phone comes with a triple camera module on the back, arranged vertically. It features a 12-megapixel main sensor with variable aperture ranging from f/1.5 to f/2.4 and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.6 aperture. The third sensor is a ToF (Time of Flight) camera that can be used to accurately map objects at up to 3 meters. On the front side, it comes with a 25-megapixel ultrawide camera.

Connectivity options on the device include a dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, N, C, GPS and USB-C. However, the phone lacks 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with the company’s own ColorOS 5.2. The phone is fuelled by a 3,700mAh battery that carries support for 50W fast charging through SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology.
