Since the beginning of this year, there have been some evidences that hinted that Xiaomi would be soon unveiling the Black Shark 2 gaming phone. Well, the confirmation has surfaced on Weibo. The official launch poster released by the company confirms that the Black Shark 2 will be announced on March 18.

The Black Shark 2 launch poster has no details on the key specs of the phone. The unveil event will be held at Beijing, China on March 18. Recent reports have revealed that the Snapdragon 855 chipset will be present under the hood of the device. The handset may come in two RAM variants such as 8 GB and 12 GB.

The Black Shark 2 smartphone has also bagged 3C certification in the recent. It has been found through its 3C approval that it will carry support for 27W fast charging technology. The recently announced Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship phone is also equipped with the same rapid charging technology. Black Shark had recently confirmed that the phone will be equipped with Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology. Probably, the Black Shark 2 could be featuring a larger cooling pipe to regulate the phone’s internal temperature during intensive gaming.

A recently leaked image of the purported Black Shark 2 reveals that there will be a slight arrangement in the rear design of the phone. The handset may feature a vertical dual camera setup on the top-left corner of its rear shell. The smartphone may still continue to sport the same black colored rear with green linings like the predecessor models. The front design of the phone is still under the wraps. There is no information on the price tag of the Black Shark 2.

On the very same day, Redmi will be also announcing the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in China. The handset will be equipped with Snapdragon 675 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and Sony IMX586 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The rest of the specs of the phone will be same as the Redmi Note 7. Speaking of Note 7, its new variant featuring 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is also expected to get announced on the same day.
