If you are in India and would like to lay your hands on Vivo’s latest iQOO gaming smartphone, we’ve got good news for you. The sleek gaming smartphone will meet with the Indian market as early as May, according to tech blog, 91 Mobiles. The outfit credits an unnamed Vivo executive to have hinted that the device will be hitting the Indian market in late May or early June.
The Vivo exec is also said to have hinted that four variants of the iQOO will be available in India and that should include the 12GB RAM variant. Further, he also revealed that the BBK subsidiary will launch another gaming smartphone later this year in the Indian market. Both phones will come with price tags ranging between Rs 30,000 and Rs 60,000. Vivo has only launched the iQOO in China and India could be the second market the phone will be launched. The launch in India may also signal the global release of the gaming smartphone which we expect to be a hot-selling one. Vivo is yet to officially disclose any detail of the iQOO’s launch itinerary outside China so we’ll treat this as a rumour for now.

As a reminder, the Vivo iQOO sports a 6.4-inch waterdrop AMOLED display with high 91.7% screen to body ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor. The smartphone comes in two different colours, the Electro-optic Blue and Lava Orange with both colors featuring Halo light strip at the back which would be an added advantage for gamers. The light strip comes up automatically when you finish a particular milestone during gameplay, giving a sense of achievement. There are also two monster touch buttons on the sides for playing games.

On the camera aspect, Vivo iQOO features a triple camera setup, with a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor, 13MP wide angle lens and a 2MP lens for bokeh effect. For selfies, there’s a 12MP sensor for capturing those amazing moment. Under the hood is a 4000mAh battery which would give gamers a considerate gaming time when fully charge. The battery is supported with a 44W charger which would charge the device fully in just 45mins. Other features include Jovi Assistant, NFC, screen fingerprint, and a new Funtouch OS 9 based on Android Pie.
