The Nubia Alpha wearable smartphone went on sale for the first time in China, just as scheduled. The sales took place simultaneously on Nubia’s official mall, Jingdong, China Unicom, Lynx and Suning Tesco. Nubia has now revealed that the sales were way above expectations. nubia alpha

The Nubia Alpha has courted a lot of interests since the device was first showcased as MWC 2019. The official launch in China a few days back again rekindled interests in the model. The design and innovation which the device brings to the table. The innovation comes at a costly price, though, but that seems not to have affected the sales. The  Alpha starts at 3,499 Yuan (~$520) for the black variant with eSIM. There is an 18k gold-plated edition with a price tag of 4,499 Yuan (~$669).Nubia Alpha

As a reminder, Nubia Alpha features a 4-inch flexible display with an aspect ratio of 36:9. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2011 processor and runs Nubia’s custom-made AlphaOS. It equally supports AIM (Air Interaction Mechanics) gestures that allow users to control the device without touching its screen. The device packs 1GB RAM with 8GB storage. There is also a 5MP camera on the device.
