When Nubia’s dual-screen phone, the Nubia X launched last year, Android Pie was already available but the phone launched with Android 8.1 Oreo instead. Nubia has now released an Android P beta update for the device.

Nubia X Android P

The Nubia P update comes as Nubia JOS (not Nubia UI), which is specially designed for the dual-screen phone. The update is not available as an OTA and has to be manually downloaded on to your device.

The changelog for the device says overall system performance and system stability have been optimized. It also says the security patch has been updated but doesn’t say the month. There are also some fixes for third-party apps like King of Glory.

Nubia says you will be able to roll back to a stable version but you will have to back up your data first as rolling back will wipe the phone. You also have to disable root access if you have it activated before updating to Android P beta.

The update is 2.6GB in size and can be downloaded here. We advise you to check official Nubia forums to find out more about the update and read feedback from users.
