Samsung has announced a new smartphone in India today. The Galaxy A2 Core is unlike its siblings that launched last week. It is actually the least powerful phone from Samsung this year and also the cheapest.

The Galaxy A2 Core is an Android Go phone, actually, Samsung’s third after the Galaxy J2 Core and Galaxy J4 Core released last year. Since the Galaxy J series is now no more, future Android Go phones will launch under the Galaxy A series.

The Galaxy A2 Core has a 5-inch 540 x 960 display. It is powered by the Exynos 7870, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor. There is 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which is expandable via a MicroSD card slot (256GB max.).

On each side of the phone is a 5MP camera with the rear sporting an LED flash. There is dual SIM support and it runs Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) out of the box. You also get a 2,600mAh battery and 4G VoLTE support.

The Galaxy A2 Core has a polycarbonate body and comes in black and blue color variants. It is priced at ₹5,290 which translates to about $76. It is available at offline stores across India.
