Redmi’s new mysterious phone is coming soon with Snapdragon 855 chipset. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing revealed in a new Weibo post some additional features of the device. The upcoming flagship, which also could be the cheapest Snapdragon 855 device around, will support NFC and wireless charging. It is worth mentioning that Lu even confirmed very thin bezels on the new smartphone.

CEO Lei Jun allegedly playing with the Redmi SD855 flagship

Last month, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was seen with the alleged Redmi SD855 smartphone. However, at that time the design was not very clear, but thanks to confirmations later which verified the device’s existence. Lu Weibing has already confirmed few features of the device like the existence of 3.5 mm audio jack, triple camera module among others.

A recently leaked video revealed its triple sensor camera setup with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. Whereas, the front side is expected to carry a full view display featuring slim bezels, impressive screen-to-body ratio, and a punch hole camera. Unlike the Galaxy S10 series, the punch hole camera appeared on the top-center position.

The Chinese firm is frequently teasing the Redmi SD855, but the identity and main specifications of the device are still under wraps. Some rumours claim the new phone may go official by the end of this month.

We expect some more details to surface from Xiaomi side before actual launch happens later.

Additionally, Redmi will unveil Redmi Y3 on April 24th featuring a 21 MP selfie camera, waterdrop notch and a bigger battery.
