The Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro flagship phones are expected to go official on May 21 through an unveil event in London. There is a possibility that the Honor 20 and 20 Pro phones may go official first in China before its international announcement. A tipster has shared key information on the main sensors of the camera setups of both smartphones.

The tipster has revealed that the Honor 20 will be featuring the Sony IMX586 48-megapixel camera sensor. He has added that it will be a customized version built by Huawei in collaboration with Sony. The custom Sony IMX586 will have Red-Yellow-Yellow-Blue (RYYB) filter array instead of the regular Red-Green-Green-Blue (RGGB). This reminds of the Huawei P30 Pro that features a custom-made 40-megapixel Sony IMX600 sensor with RYYB filter array. The Honor 20 Pro will be featuring the Sony IMX600 with the regular RGGB pixel layout.

Previous reports have revealed that the Honor 20 will be arriving with a 6.1-inch OLED display whereas the Honor 20 Pro will be featuring a larger OLED screen of 6.5 inches. Leaked renders of both phones that have appeared in the recent past have revealed that they do not feature rear-mounted fingerprint scanners. Hence, these phones are likely to arrive with in-display fingerprint scanners.
