Xiaomi unwrapped the Redmi Y3 in India last week and went on its first sale today. The flash sale took place simultaneously on Mi.com and Amazon India at noon local time. The flash sale only lasted for a minute before all available units were sold out.Redmi Y3

Xiaomi India’s CEO Manu Kuma Jain who disclosed this didn’t mention the number of units made available. The Redmi Y3 flash sale is coming a day after the Realme 3 Pro went on its first sale with fans snagging over 170,000 units. We’d prefer Xiaomi mention the number of units that were sold during the flash sale so as to rule out the possibility of such news being just hype. Amazon.in has announced that the next flash sale for the Redmi Y3 will be on May 3.

The Redmi Y3 has almost similar specs with the Redmi 7 except for a more powerful 32MP selfie camera. It packs a similar 12MP+2MP dual camera setup at the rear as the Redmi 7. The device packs a Snapdragon 632 SoC under the hood paired with 3/4GB RAM and runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 atop. It sports a 6.26-inch HD+ notched display and ships with a 4,000 mAh battery that fuels the entire package.  The device comes in Prime Black, Bold Red, and Elegant Blue colors. The Y3 is priced at Rs9,999 ($143) for the 3GB+32GB variant and Rs. 11,999 ($172) for the 4GB+64GB model.
