At the OnePlus 7 series launch today in China, OnePlus’ CEO and founder, Pete Lau announced that the company is now one of the top 5 premium smartphone makers in the world.

The six-year-old phone maker joins Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and OPPO who occupy the first four spots respectively. In its 6-years of existence, OnePlus has released 10 flagship phones.

This year, OnePlus decided to switch things up by releasing a Pro version that offers more features than the standard variant. The phone will be available for purchase in the US via T-Mobile tomorrow and will be available on May 21 in Europe and China.

OnePlus will be diversifying its portfolio in the coming year with the announcement of its own smart TV. The TV will have AI features and will be able to communicate seamlessly with a smartphone. The product will be much more like a large smart display than a TV and will launch in India.
