ZTE has announced a new entry-level smartphone. The Blade A5 2019 was launched in Russia this week and it is one of the few phones powered by the Unisoc (Spreadtrum) SC9863A, the first processor with only Cortex-A55 cores.

ZTE Blade A5 2019 featured

The Blade A5 2019 has a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display. There are thick bezels around the display which isn’t surprising since this is an entry-level phone. The 28nm octa-core processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A dedicated MicroSD card slot is present if you want to add more storage (256GB max).

The phone has a single 13MP f/2.0 camera on the back with HDR and panorama support while an 8MP f/2.4 camera, also with HDR, sits above the display. There is no fingerprint scanner and ZTE doesn’t mention if there is Face Unlock.
