Xiaomi is rolling out a stable Android Pie update to two of its phones. The Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Note 5 Pro are the two devices getting a slice of pie now. Back in January, Xiaomi began recruiting beta testers for both phones. It is now done with the beta stage and has begun pushing out a stable update.

The update is already rolling out to users in India. It arrives as MIUI 10.3.2.0.PDMMIXM for the Redmi 6 Pro and comes with May’s security patch. The update also brings support for using face unlock for app lock. There is also Dual VoLTE support and Dark Mode bundled with the update along with lots of bug fixes.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro also gets May’s security patch and the update is also 1.6GB in size like that of the Redmi 6 Pro.

Both the Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Note 5 Pro were launched last year. The former is known as the Mi A2 Lite in other markets and already got updated to Android Pie back in November. While the Redmi 6 ran Android Oreo out of the box, the Redmi Note 5 Pro launched with Android Nougat. Both have now received an update to Android Pie. There is a high chance this will be the last major OS update for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, it should still get MIUI updates.
