Huawei’s Honor brand have just launched their latest smartphones – the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro, in China a couple of days ago. The flagship models were first launched last week at an event in London. So, now why is it exactly that we’re finding new 12GB RAM variants of the devices over on TENAA?

They were just listed with model numbers YAL-AL00 and YAL-AL10 on TENAA, and while most of the specs are the same, both the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro were certified with 12 GB RAM. The Honor YAL-AL00 is Honor 20, while YAL-AL10 is Honor 20 Pro. Both of these are certified by TENAA with additional RAM options from 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM variant with 128GB / 256GB storage options.

Outside of this change, everything else is essentially the same with the early launch. Why did Honor release the lowest configuration worldwide instead of all of them? It’s possible the company wanted to advertise the lowest possible price, but we can really only speculate. Regardless, we’re quite happy to see more options available to consumers.

When George Zhao, Honor CEO, introduced the devices, he said they will be “coming soon” without giving an official date. We can assume this is thanks to problematic relations between the Chinese and US governments. It’s safe to say a delay is unlikely to happen in China, seeing how the thing already has its certification.
