Following the tweet by Realme’s CEO revealing they will launch a 64MP quad camera smartphone this year. and showing us the first camera sample, the official Realme Weibo account has given us a first look at the device.

Realme 64PMP Quad Camera Phone

The unnamed Realme phone will have its quad rear cameras lined up vertically on the left side of the phone. All the sensors will share a single housing with the main 64MP sensor having yellow rings around it. Finally, flanking the cameras is an LED flash.

The post says users will be able to shoot ultra-high pixel images with a resolution of 9216 x 6912. The cameras will also have AI features for the best output when shooting.

Other than the cameras, there isn’t much else the image reveals about the design of the phone. However, since this was shared by the Weibo account, we have a feeling the phone will launch first in China.

Madhav Sheth already revealed the 64MP sensor is Samsung’s new GW1 sensor with a 1/1.72 sensor size and 1.6µm pixel. The Weibo post says the phone will launch in the second half of 2019, so we can look forward to a July release date at the earliest.

The rest of the specs are still under wraps but those should surface ahead of the official announcement, either from leakers or even from Realme.
