Xiaomi fans in India are eagerly waiting for the company to confirm the launch date of the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. Report surrounding the Redmi K20 series suggest that the phone may debut around July 15 in the country. Fresh information reveals that the Chinese firm is gearing up to launch the Redmi 7A entry-level smartphone in India

In an interview with 91mobiles, Xiaomi India Head of Marketing revealed that the Redmi 7A will be releasing in India in the near future. He didn’t confirm the exact launch date of the smartphone. However, he stated that the Redmi 7A may debut alongside the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro or within few days of the event.

On May 28, Redmi had unveiled the Redmi 7A phone in China and its now gearing up to make it available in India. Hence, its entire specifications are known. The Redmi 7A will be arriving in the country as the successor for the Redmi 6A smartphone from last year.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A Specifications

The Redmi 7A houses a 5.45-inch IPS LCD panel that is surrounded by thick bezels. The bottom bezel has the Redmi branding. The display supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and it offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The body of the Redmi 7A has P2i splash-resistant nano coating.

Powering the smartphone is the modest Snapdragon 439 chipset. It comes with 2 GB of RAM. The handset is available in China in 16 GB and 32 GB storage models. There is a microSD card slot for additional storage on the device.

The MIUI 10 flavored Android 9 Pie OS comes preloaded on the Redmi 7A. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The rear side of the phone features a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. For capturing selfies, the smartphone offers its users with a 5-megapixel shooter.

In China, the Redmi 7A is available in two models such as 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage for 549 Yuan (~$79; ~Rs. 5,529) and 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage for 599 Yuan (~$87; ~Rs. 6,030). It can be bought in Black and Blue colors.
