Xiaomi has scheduled a launch event in India on 17th July where the company will be launching the much-awaited Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. However, the company has come up with a new sales strategy that enables potential buyers to get hands on the smartphone before they officially go on sale.

The company has announced Alpha Sale for the Redmi K20 series smartphones in India. Under this sale, interested buyers can pre-book either the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphone by paying Rs. 855 from 12th July. Those users will then be granted special access to complete the purchase process on 17th July.

The users will be allowed to choose any variant of the smartphone during the purchase process. Also, a discount of Rs. 855 will be automatically added during the checkout as they would have already paid Rs. 855 to pre-book the phone.

So, if you are one of those who wants to buy Xiaomi smartphones but are frustrated with the company’s Flash Sale method where usually most users don’t get to buy the phone, then here’s your chance to pre-book the device.

However, do note that the company has not yet announced the pricing details of the Redmi K20 series smartphones. But given the marketing campaign, the Redmi K20 series is expected to compete against the upcoming Realme X and the already launched OnePlus 7.

Coming to the specifications, both the smartphones feature a notch-less Full HD+ AMOLED displays of 6.39-inch, which comes integrated with an under-display fingerprint sensor. The rear side of these phones feature 3D curved glass.

Also, both phones have 20-megapixel pop-up selfie cameras. On the back side, the phones have a triple camera setup, consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel secondary snapper, and an 8-megapixel tertiary camera. The Redmi K20 has Sony IMX582 primary lens whereas as the Redmi K20 Pro features Sony IMX586.

Both the smartphones are powered by 4,000mAh battery. While the K20 supports 18W rapid charging, the Pro model comes with support for 27W fast charging. The K20 handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC while the Pro model is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset.
