Update: Google pulled the update soon after releasing it. The search giant cites some installation errors as the reason for the temporary halt. As like the Android Beta 4 update, the new Beta 5 update also failed to install on some Pixel devices. Google took to Reddit to announce about temporary suspension of the rollout.

We’re aware of an issue with Android Q Beta 5 related to installing updates. We’ve temporarily paused Beta 5 OTA updates to all Pixel devices as we investigate the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and will provide this post once the issue is resolved.

Google is rolling out 5th consecutive Android Q Beta via OTA updates on Pixel devices. The Android Q Beta 5 update brought software build number QPP5.190530.014. It brings various new stability improvements, fixes significant problems, adds gesture navigation and many other features. The latest build has made animations more fluidic. The animations feel more smooth and flawless throughout the system. The change is apparent in the multitasking menu. Google introduced a new peek feature to open the drawer instead of moving back for efficient navigation.

It has become easy to access recent apps drawer from the home screen as the gesture is now more responsive. Even though, the update has finally changed its name from “Fully Gestural Navigation” to “Gesture Navigation”.

The developers can now download the API 29 SDK to make their apps compatible with Android. The update is rolling out to the beta-enabled Pixel devices including Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL as well as the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
